Yeah I agree Rob he should not have been named, even if he is released and had nothing to do with it everyone knows his identity and with a lot of low intelligence people around all it takes is 1 to firebomb his home or whatever even if he is innocent, someone should not be named until they are charged with an offence and even then it is better to wait till convistion before naming, if this guy is innocent he is still a marked man for life thanks to Sky that saying if he turns out to be guilty hopefully he will be tortured in the most inhumane way imaginable in jail

Ben Needham's mother was on GMTV this morning and they had very little help when Ben vanished on Kos. There was no reward or real help from our Embassy in Greece. Seems as if a blonde young girl gets far more attention.

I kinda think you have a point there tbh... It's an even more polarized state of affairs in the US where if a Hispanic or African American girl is kidnapped then the Media hardly even bothers to mention it, but a pretty white blonde girl going missing makes headline news.....

Exacty, it's another "Colin Stagg" really innit....? I think that the Press Black-out that police operate under in much Continental Europe (not just Portugal Craig...) is actually better in many respects, because it helps prevent lazy speculation an it means that the cops can actually concentrate on the actual investigation instead of feeling obliged to give a sodding Press Conference every five minutes.. Because now we've had this total and utter speculation in the press about this guy and people are out to get him, the coppers have to divert manpower away from the investigation to ensure this bloke's safety and the safety of his ex and daughter..... Sky are fukkin' MORONS.... <_< <_< And, Craig, you defended the actions of Fox News on another thread mate, well, Sky and Fox is owned by guess who.....? Murdoch...... The Sky News coverage last night was vile Scott, outrageous the way they showed so many pics of him and his mother and got ex friends and school mates on to be interviewed about what the guy was like etc, very very poor taste indeed to name and character assassinate a man who at this stage has not been charged with any offences, can't really compare with the one in America though because that was outing real criminals who clearly had a sinister motive (sex with a 14 year old girl) by turning up at the house of a '14 year old girl', but I saw your point there but I don't think it can be compared with this guy

I think both Sky and Fox are vile excuses for journalism to be honest mate, Fox's coverage of the Iraq War was disgusting, and just as much propaganda as anything Al Jazeera comes away with....

 

If it were up to me, I'd see the likes of Murdoch stopped from ever being allowed to control as much of the world's media as they do.... I trust the Beeb far more than any other because they are not controlled by some business consortium and there is no danger of outside Corporate interests coming in and influencing things because it is a Publically funded broadcaster which does NOT carry any advertising. People who moan about the licence fee really need to look at what some of the alternatives actually are - do we want to see BBC News turning into Sky or Fox....? I know I certainly dont.....

Yeah BBC is my fave channel tbh, they have a lot of dramas and current affairs/politics/news programs and arts programs and so on whereas as ITV/Sky is more tacky gameshows, imported rubbish and so on, the BBC is the Telegraph or Times whereas ITV/Sky is The Sun or The Star when it comes to television

Not sure that's true mate, both Labour and Tory Govts have criticised the Beeb for their "anti-Govt bias" at various points over the years.... And wasn't Greg Dyke forced to resign over the whole way in which the Beeb reported the "Dodgy Dossier" thing, which was highly critical of the Govt's 'evidence' on Iraqi WMDs.....
