Cher also covered the Marc Cohn original.

Then in 1996, Scooter did a hardcore version with the title shortened to I'M RAVIN'. This peaked at #33 with 3 weeks on the chart.

You can hear the Scooter version HERE

To my knowledge the biggest drop ever is

Shut Up and Dance - Raving I'm Raving (May 1992) which had a chart run of 2 - 15 - OUT

also wedding present had loads of singles getting in the top 20 and having 1 week plus a number 10 with 2 weeks on the chart

It had a very limited number of copies and was completely sold out by the middle of the second week.

btw the McFky DVD single was deleted after about 1 week as well

and the royalties went to charity!.

Yeah, their chart runs are REALLY bad, and so what if they reach #1?!, the chart runs are really bad for a #1 single, and the only thing that matters is the album performance.

So far the album has only sold 200,000. REALLY bad when you consider that it's McFly we're talking about here, with loads of money spent on them by the label!.

A film can make #1 on the box office and still be considered a flop if it don't recoup the costs.

I hope there won't e'en be a next single.

bet it's a triple A side just to make sure it gets in the chart :w00t:

^^ Yep. Hopefully then they will realise their $h!t, some have some crappy attempts at solo careers then bugger off forever :cheer:
A 17 track greatest hits with 3 new tracks, and then f-off for enternity.

This is the list of the only songs to drop lower than No.9 straight from No.1:

2007 - MyFly - Baby's Coming Back : 1->20

2005 - Elvis Presley - One Night/I Got Stung : 1->20

2005 - Elvis Presley - It's Now Or Never : 1->14

1958 - Harry Belafonte - Mary's Boy Child : 1->12

2005 - Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock : 1->10

1984 - Flying Pickets - Only You : 1->10

Its an unfortunate record to have for a song that is neither limited edition or seasonal, but it just goes to show how the physical market (McFly's main sales) currently is. A few weeks ago, the Manic Street Preachers would have been on the list if only physical sales were counted.

Yup, but it still had enough copies left in the shops for a second week. It became a limited edition cos f***head Cohn decided to take the usual American route and sue. I've still got a copy but less interest nowadays in the record means it's nothing like as valuable as it was.

Some $h!tty Belgian act called MRM then released a version of 'Walking in Memphis' which nicked wholesale the SUAD backing, but did SUAD sue them? Nope.

Ironically, SUAD had a remix on the Cher cover - desperate times...

they are bad

says the westlife fan, Mc Fly may be nothing really but they are still a million times better than westlife as they write there own songs and play their own instruments

Write their own songs...or wrote?

"Don't Stop Me Now" and "Baby's Coming Back"?

Seems as though they're being forced into covers cos their own writing has dried up. Mind you, yes, still streets ahead of Westlife - an act suitable only for the cruddiest of Vegas hotels.

McFly get far more stick than they deserve. I'm no McFly fan and would never buy anything of theirs but they write ALL their own stuff, they always play live and make fun pop songs. I'd much rather have McFly around than all the $h!te boybands that sing nothing but ballads that are either all covers or atleast written by someone else.

That's two covers from three albums. Compared to the majority of pop bands nowadays it's really not much at all. And atleast with BCB they covered a fairly unknown song unlike other acts who always cover huge hits that are known by the majority of people.

I agree. I am not quite sure where all the venom against McFly comes from on this message board.

Some people are so blinkered that unless Shakira or Beyonce or Sophie-Ellis-Bextor or anyone of the other numerous acts that seem to constantly be championed on this chart discussion forum is at No.1 they slag off the act in question. I guess it is because most of the readers are teenage boys that feel the need to slate boy bands - even ones that are in their position because of singing, performing and writing talent and a loyal fan base.

3 covers in 3 years is good

You've got a freind 2005 for comic relief

don't stop me now 2006 sports relief

baby's coming back 2007

they 2 albums with no covers

and on the third album 1 cover don't stop me now and baby's coming back on limited cd

Btw The people that do sport relief wanted an act to sing don't stop me now as a official single no matter who it was

they wanted Mcfly to do it and if they said no they would have asked someone else

Baby's coming back Mcfly asked to cover that as its one of their fav bands

I don't mind McFly, and I quite like Transylvania. They are an act that have a loyal fanbase and practically zero interest outside of that fanbase, but I have nothing against them. There are far worse acts out there.
