May 28, 200719 yr I was just wondering what had caused the sudden reappearance of The Stones in the singles chart. Which Mikey answered. Thanks Mikey! That's OK, you will find some obscure tracks entering the charts especially down the lower end, as weeks go by the programme might churn some more odd tracks in the chart.
May 28, 200719 yr Be nice if The Pixies get mentioned in the alternative episode and Monkey Gone to Heaven gets back in the chart. Especially as I've just seen the video on E4.
May 28, 200719 yr Have you ever thought that some poeple like 60s music. There's so much rubbish released these days (just look at this week's new entries - apart from the Stones the rest are utter rubbish) that it's refreshing to have some real music. And there's obviously a HUGE following for this "real" music. #70 is quite some achievement ;) but there only like 6 new entries every week now. the charts are boring now so much meh. anyway i will disgree that there so much rubbish released these days, you just have to know where to look for it. just switch off the hits switch off commercial radio get some good stuff instead. whatever period of time there gonna be c**p theres gonna be good stuff, and you cannot stick everything in the 60s together as no doubt the early 60 is complete different to the late flower power 60s that could be seen as going with the early 70s, just like pop music in the early 2000s is different to the r&b production line american bordoms of today. That's a bit patronising. I love obscure 60s garage punk and psych and the first music I started listening to properly was 60s stuff. I was just wondering what had caused the sudden reappearance of The Stones in the singles chart. Which Mikey answered. Thanks Mikey! well obv people watch tv rockumentary see song and all think 'i must download this noooooooow!!' just like people sitting in bmw 3 -series on motorways listening to drivetime or mothers in their ford fiesta in the tescos carpark with their kids listen to commercial radio here Nelly Furtado and think, i must download this nooooooow!!! just once i'm out of this traffic jam!!! no wonder Mr Oizo got to number one with Flat Beat on the back of a quirky ad campaign and a 'loverble cool' puppet character, just being on ultra trendy, the name to drop record label, ed banger hasnt transfered into any more sales yet  and if you read the right mags thats like to pinnicle of coolness innit? cSwUwnLityU That's OK, you will find some obscure tracks entering the charts especially down the lower end, as weeks go by the programme might churn some more odd tracks in the chart. I doubt it, no obscure tracks will charts it will be always the ones that are kinda well known. btw breakbeat kaos nearly had another hit this week with pendulum's blood sugar. pity it got to only 80, would have been like the good old days with Roni Size, DJ Fresh, Adam F zooming in and out the bottom of the chart with random releases. Be nice if The Pixies get mentioned in the alternative episode and Monkey Gone to Heaven gets back in the chart. Especially as I've just seen the video on E4. give credit where credit due, e4 music do play some good indie tracks but it'll be off for the next few months for bb wont it. (and even they could get the 1990s to chart )
May 28, 200719 yr Okay - it's my first post in here - I've only really signed up because I've been annoyed on the odd occasion that I'ave had the answer to something but been unable to post it. How come The Stones are back in the chart? Don't people who think it's because of the "Seven Ages Of Rock" series (which by the way is amazing, shame i missed the first one) wonder why that track and no other has charted? I think the more obvious reason as far as I'm concerned is this simply fantastic cover from a week ago last Saturday night. 5oav4WXEebQ I'm prepared to be proved wrong if "Another Brick In The Wall" or "See Emily Play" go top 75 this week though ;)
May 28, 200719 yr I think the more obvious reason as far as I'm concerned is this simply fantastic cover from a week ago last Saturday night. 5oav4WXEebQ i dont think this needs to be overly pedantic of what tv show its on just that its got tv exposure which resulted in people feeling the need to go and downloads it straight after the show. like linkin park/jay-z with miami vice trailers the song might have got airplay on other trailers but it still got that airplay and when it comes to the singles chart thats all important no whether its critically accalimed or whatever. btw hope the eurovision songs do better in the chart next year on dls
