Alizee's song is such a classic, I used it in a presentation at uni once when discussing examples of foreign language hits that had been big in the UK

Was is top10 on the back of video channel support? I'm glad they thought it could be a UK hit. It sold over a million copies in France in 2000, and was a huge Euro hit in 2001 and 2002. I expected it to be a hit in countries like Germany, Italy, Norway, etc, but not the UK.

yes purely because of channels like The Box...I don't recall it having radio play

The Box used to be a very powerful channel :)
