July 8, 200718 yr It's been very close but Nadal was all over Federer those last few games - who'll take it?!
July 8, 200718 yr Well Done to Roger Federer, I'm delighted he emulated Bjorn Borg's 5th consecutive Wimbledon title in row. However like in 1980, you have to wonder if this is the beginning of the end of his dominance with Nadal being the McEnroe (except with more gamesmanship and less tantrums).

Nadal only has a great track record in French Open though, he has never won in Australia, USA or Wimbledon so he is a long way still from breaking Federer's dominance and at 25 there is no reason why Federer can't be strong for another 10 years, Agassi was still successful in his mid 30's plus Borg retired from tennis ridiculously young Edited July 8, 200718 yr by Vic Vega
July 8, 200718 yr Absolutley great final! I'm very pleased for Federer, he's the best player on grass and he showed that today, however next year I think it'll be Nadal's turn to win Wimbeldon...

July 8, 200718 yr Was happy for Federer to win even though perhaps now or very soon Nadal will be the better player. Much prefer to watch players that come into the net rather then baselines players like Nadal. This final was interesting because it was so even, for Tennis entertainment I hope Nadal doesn't dominate for the next few years as will lead to many dull games.
July 8, 200718 yr Congrats Federer, probably the greatest tennis player we have ever seen Certainly not in my view. Bjorn Borg the greatest ever by a mile.
July 8, 200718 yr I really do not see any changing of the guard at all, Federer had a dodgy 4th set but he got the crucial points when it mattered in the match and the scoreline is quite flattering to Nadal Federer is only 25 players don't reach their peak till around 30 so Federer will be getting BETTER Nadal is plucky and determined but he is going to need more than that on grass to depose Federer in the coming years
July 8, 200718 yr I agree, no way is Federer the best ever, though he is brilliant. I hope Nadal never wins, he never looks happy -_- Face like a slapped arse!
July 8, 200718 yr Certainly not in my view. Bjorn Borg the greatest ever by a mile. Can't compare the 2 though, Borg used wooden rackets and Federer has not, its a complete different era much more based on power and Borg never had the power with the wooden rackets that these guys have
July 8, 200718 yr Bahh I wanted Nadal to win. :( I mean the last time someone else won the men's Wimbledon I was in year seven. :manson:
July 8, 200718 yr  the first Brit to win at Wimbledon since 1987  and Jelena was amazing too!
