The Original is f***ING AMAZING. no doubt about it.

I remember sitting with my mum, when i was younger, and i absoutely loved it!

Its nowhere on DVD or Video or anything! :( I have been looking for ages to find it.

I will go see this Re-make, but it will not beat the original

Hopefully with the Re-Make they release the Original on DVD!

I hear it's f***ing amazing. Especially from all the glowing reviews it's getting + my friends say it's great. I want to see it. Though my favorite musical-movie will always be Chicago.

Since this film is an adaption of the 2002 stage musical, itself an adaption of the 1988 original film... is it fair to call this a proper remake?

As much as I loathe John Travolta, I enjoyed the stage musical so I may see this film...

I've changed my mind, after downloading the movie soundtrack, I absoulty love it, but the people I sat with didn't, thats probably why I thought it was rubbish :D
They sell it in Woolworths

Well i've looked everywhere you can imagine, for over 5 years  And still no luck :P I expect they will stock it now though, with the Remake coming out.

Anyway, the Soundtrack is absolutely AMAZING , so cheesey and fun i love it

I'm gonna go see it tomorrow :D

Well i have never noticed it

Thanks for the link Russ :D Ordered it now :cheer:

go to the USA to get it with this:

John Waters Collection (A Dirty Shame NC-17 Version / Desperate Living / Female Trouble / Hairspray / Pecker / Pink Flamingos / Polyester) (2004) can be got from retailers there

I hate remakes, mind you I prefer the original of Hairspray

yeah dude!!! however sayin that any remake of Pink Flamingos would be a Simon Cowell reality TV show now    (now i wonder if on America's Got Talent they will have some fat TV eating, oh never mind    )

hello im becca and im new to this but i have seen hairspray and i fort it was wkd and i wud watch it again anytimee lol
track down the original 1988 movie, Matt, with Debbie Harry and Divine - it's non-musical (more or less)... and it's 100% better (and funnier) than this awful re-make.

Okay I will check it our Russ ^_^ Its starting to row on me, the re-make :(

Please refraim from using text speak :P

I thought it was a great movie, it made me smile the whole way through. I especially enjoyed "Without Love" and "You Can't Stop the Beat".

It was well cast, however I wasn't so sure about Christopher Walken.

I would gladly see it again :D
