Posted June 26, 200718 yr Youngsters give Rihanna a run for her money 26 June 2007 - 13:10:13 Source: Music Week Two young singer songwriters are set to challenge Rihanna’s long-standing dominance of the singles chart this Sunday, according to early sales reports. Jack Penate’s Torn On The Platform (XL) and Kate Nash’s Foundations (Fiction) are both set for top three chart entries, although Rihanna’s Umbrella (Def Jam) is currently outselling both singles by a narrow margin. The Enemy and The Hoosiers also look set for top ten entries on the chart, with Had Enough (Warner Bros) and Worried About Ray (RCA), respectively. On the albums chart, Editors look set for their first number one, with their new album An End Has A Start (Kitchenware). ======================== Singles 01 Rihanna feat. June 26, 200718 yr Well obviously a nail biting week for us Gareth fans and I always look forward to the midweeks. Just wonder if they will be a true indication of chart positions this week, due to such awfull weather yesterday and folks returning from Glastonbury, who will probably be buying their 'fave artists' later in the week(when they have dried out and caught up on some sleep, she says jealously)!!
June 26, 200718 yr I hope stephanie mcintosh can break the top 10 but i see her missing the top 40 :(
June 26, 200718 yr Popjustice have posted their news story on the midweeks. It's a bit vague as they use sound effects to show whether a song is a hit (a bell) or a flop (a honk!) Flop Gwen Stefani - 4 In The Morning Kelly Rowland - Ms Kelly (album) The Killers - For Reasons Unknown Robin Thicke - Lost Without U The Horrors - She Is The New Thing Siobhan Donaghy - Ghosts (album) Hit Kate Nash - Foundations Kelly Clarkson - My December (album) Hadouken - Liquid Lives Although they do say something like a hit for Hadouken would be a flop for Gwen Stefani Not the best thing to go on, but I thought I would post it anyway whilst we waited for more news
June 26, 200718 yr I can't see Hadouken getting higher than Gwen tbh, somewhere between #51-60 I reckon. Gwen will get #21-30 I thinkk.
June 26, 200718 yr How confusing! I think Nashie will give Rihanna a good run for her money but will just lose out this week. Not too sure about anything else - there's quite a lot out for once so should be interesting.
June 26, 200718 yr I think Gwen will chart 16-20. A flop by her standards considering how huge 'The Sweet Escape' was.
June 26, 200718 yr Lmao they totally exagerrate. They probably say its a flop if its not Top 5! Last week they had Andrea Corr, Siobhan, Mel C, Simon Webbe, Gareth Gates flopping And they had Lee Mead, Editors and Muse with hits
June 26, 200718 yr 4 in the morning is one of my favourite Gwen tracks. It should get top 10 if there's any justice which of course there isn't.
June 26, 200718 yr I hope Kelly R doesnt miss Top 10. The album is too good for that, though there seems to be a few stocking problems, which isnt good news -_-
June 26, 200718 yr I hope Kelly R doesnt miss Top 10. The album is too good for that, though there seems to be a few stocking problems, which isnt good news -_- I have a feeling she will miss the top 10... :(
June 26, 200718 yr Im just wondering if Lee will overtake Rihanna lol, I hope not.. He's like #70 on itunes.
June 26, 200718 yr Lmao they totally exagerrate. They probably say its a flop if its not Top 5! They claim it is relative. So a song expected to be number 1 charting at number 10 might be treated as a flop, but a song expected to miss, but charting higher could be a hit. TBH, they seem to make it up as they go along!
