Posted June 30, 200718 yr I've been hearing snippets of his next single up and down and I've just heard some more of it on PopWorld, I think he's got his 2nd no1 single in the bag, very Cher like with the vocal synth and very upbeat.
June 30, 200718 yr ye i heard the clips on popworld, sounds good, dont know if im gona like the chipmunk style part in it though, hope it isnt loads like akons lonely
June 30, 200718 yr Popworld is repeated tomorrow morning on Channel 4, I think. The song sounds pretty good and I hope he gets enough support for a hit with it. I'm sure it will grow on many people if given the chance. Edited June 30, 200718 yr by spiker
June 30, 200718 yr It does sound really good i think. Second number 1 for him hopefully, although the public support might of left him by then.
June 30, 200718 yr I switched it off before he came on LOL. I forgot. As long as its not like his first album, I will be happy
July 1, 200718 yr I have a feeling he may flop. Its been a long while since we have heard anything from him and I think alot of people will probably have forgotten him.
July 1, 200718 yr If something is good enough then it will become popular regardless of whether they are 'remembered' or not. Just look at Nelly Furtado. If the material is good enough then he'll do well.
July 1, 200718 yr I'm really hoping this will do well for him. A "Cher synth" track is exactly what he needs too ^_^
July 1, 200718 yr Tbh I think he'd be more likely to flop if he had gone for the obvious ballad route again, look at Gareth Gates, he assumed he could simply release the same stuff as before and succeed, and he was caught out.
July 1, 200718 yr he has left far too long a gap in releases and likewise with leona Don't know where you got that logic from. So using your theory a new artist should not bother at all? What about Take That, Shirley Bassey has a new album which charted today at #6. All artists take 12-18 months between albums, they will have one or two singles off the album then a long period until the next album.
July 1, 200718 yr gareth did the opposite he released completly differet style of music I really haven't noticed that happening, his last two singles have both been pop ballads no?
July 2, 200718 yr gareth did the opposite he released completly differet style of music I don't think its worth trying to convince Shoat that Gareth's music has changed. They'd made their mind up before he was ever back that he was going to fail. I agree with you though, the two ballads Gareth has released have been completely different to the ones he released previously. Just in case you'd like to give him a listen Shoat, I'm about to post up a couple of videos of other tracks on the album. They may surprise you if you give them a listen. They're not perfect quality especially the sound, but I think you can get a good idea of what they would be like to see them performed live as I saw them. I won't post them here as this is Shayne thread, but perhaps you'd take a look in the Gareth thread. Edit: Sorry I forgot to say what I meant to say about Shayne. I hope this new song will do well for him and bring him the success I think he deserves. He's got a very good voice. Edited July 2, 200718 yr by val4jadan

Well yes, I did think he'd fail before he released anything, simply on the basis that the public had long given up on him (and hey I was right). The only way he could have had a chance to succeed is if he'd really gone out there and done something completely shockingly different. By different, I mean a whole different genre/style. Going from one type of pop ballad to another type of pop ballad really doesn't cut it. Feel The Fever claimed Gareth had gone for "completely different style of music". A completely different style of music would have been Gareth going R'n'B, or dance, rock, jazz, reggae, etc. Edited July 2, 200718 yr by Shoat
July 3, 200718 yr To be fair, Gareth has done lots of non ballad pop songs on his first 2 albums. He did a pop/r&b style Edited July 3, 200718 yr by spiker
