August 2, 200717 yr I suppose it depends on what question you are actually asking? if its about the actual 'sad'* obsession of compiling lists, charts and graphs, then yeah i guess its a a gimpy* male obession to rank alongside the usual fanboy obsessions over comic books/collectables/sf etc etc if its about the stars on the chart and pop/chart music probs more female as normally people said pop is marketed at young girls (and gay man) *in my mum's opinion
August 4, 200717 yr I think it's age related as well. When I was in my preteens, teens and early 20s, I kept everything, marked the differences between rival charts and kept logs of how things developed over the years. Then life really got in the way and I've just been a watcher ever since.

August 5, 200717 yr I think it's when real life is more exciting. You still like music and that doesn't go away, it's what you spend your spare time doing that changes.
August 5, 200717 yr Male but i love only chart, but usually don't like almost all of artists in high positions.
August 5, 200717 yr Konnichiwa! (Hello!/Good afternoon!) I used to be a little obsessive about the singles chart in particular, but now as I don't listen to much new music as these days it began to feel a bit pointless and a waste of time. But now I've discovered Japanese and there's plenty of books and even more web sites I've found something new to distract me and it feels more fulfilling. Anyway, I think in general women tend to be better at multi-tasking and men tend to focus more intensly on one issue. A one track mind, so to speak  Edited August 5, 200717 yr by Sound-Bite
