I just read this, however:

 

Lily Allen banned from entering the US.

 

Lily Allen has had her US work visa cancelled and was refused entry into America when she turned up at Los Angeles International airport.

 

The 'Smile' singer was held at the airport for five hours as a result of an incident in London in March where she was cautioned for an alleged common assault.

 

Allen was due to attend the nominations announcement for the MTV Video Music Awards and is due to tour the States next month.

 

She has insisted she will try everything she can so that she can stick to her commitments, telling the Daily Mirror: "I am trying everything I can to sort this out. I don't like letting my fans down.

 

"It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on the authorities granting me a new work visa. I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September."

 

The singer has also been working on her new album in New York.

I've got a feeling either Amy Winehouse or Carrie Underwood will win but I hope it's Lily. Hope she gets into America too :P

I'm just glad she's being recognised over there in the form of a nomination. British music seems to be crossing over to the US lately. That would be like a dream come true, they are so talented and are one of the best acts around but I'm not sure if they can do it. :(

 

I really wish they tried to crack the US earlier with 'Freak Like Me', 'Round Round' or even 'Hole In The Head', but even 'Push The Button' could do quite well IMO.

 

Anyways, I really hope a brit wins this award!
