It has to be said, I'm LOVING the idea of Roman/Leah, they're FINALLY bringing back that happy little spark into Leah's character that's been missing ever since Vinnie left. LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.

This has to be bumped back up. This Belle storyline looks amazing, from promo advert it looks like her acting is amazing, tho i'll im gonna be sad at the end, shes my favourate!!!!

I think the Belle plot is going to be VERY good, but I have to admit very little else is interesting me in the show right now.

 

Aside from Martha and Belle, the show is now pretty much totally dedicated to characters who haven't even been on the screen for a full year. Characters like Alf, Irene, Colleen and Leah still continue to be pushed to the background, but we're expected to care about every tantrum and tear from the likes of Xavier and Ruby. p*** OFF.

Oh good, MORE newbies to take over the show.

 

 

I'm not really fussed on Jai, and I can't say I've missed Sally too much who was always quite a bland character. I think I will miss Nicole, she's improved vastly this year.

 

Also leaving is Kirsty at the end of the year.

Much as I love H&A, I can't help but feel it's a bit of a step backwards for Emily Symons after Emmerdale. But I LOVED Marilyn and it 'twill be very interesting to see how they integrate her back into the show given she'd only really know Alf and Irene there.

It's also been confirmed that she will be on screen for at least a year, so it's not just a flying visit either!

It's been pretty useless for the past year or so, this "mystery" has been a bit of a mission to get through and let down by a predictable and lacklustre finale.

 

Having said that, this week was pretty good. The race riot stuff was excellent, and it's managed to throw some limelight FINALLY back onto the long-standers. You sometimes forget that Alf, Irene, Colleen and Leah even exist!

Is Alf really leaving the series, I get the sense his time on the show is nearly over. The producers can't really take the character any further.

I'm not going to put in spoilers, because the answer is no, he's not leaving. The producers haven't really done anything with his character in years, but he's remained throughout. Same with Colleen, Irene and Leah. They seem quite happy to play in the background and earn a decent living whilst doing so.

Ray Meagher will be in the show however long he wants to be - he's the closest Home And Away have to an icon, and there's no way they'd ever dare to axe him. Much like Harold Bishop was to Neighbours, Ken Barlow to Corrie, Ian Beale to EE etc.

Having said that I wouldn't be surprised to see he and Lyn Collingwood (Colleen) retire or at least cut back in the next few years.

 

However, confirmed departures in the coming months are

Martha, Aden and Geoff.

This series has had a huge new cast overhaul in the past few weeks/months, all the teens have practically left, and a new batch are appearing with the return of India & Dexter.

 

And that new guy by the name of Penn, I'm sure I've seen him somewhere else before. I'm getting the feeling he is the new bad guy that's going to cause some major story line later in the series.
