Well over the next few months we are going to see the return of many successful female singers, but the battle to be crowned the most succesful is going to be a hard battle... the under-dog female singers have recently broken through in the UK, nelly furtado/kelly clarkson/shakira/amy winehouse, but which of these are going to go straight back to the top of the charts and which are going to FLOP?

Britney Spears

well, we all know who she is and everything that she does.. after a little mental breakdown, she's back with her new album.. will it have smash singles on it like her previous efforts or is britney over? can she finally go to number 1 with an album in the uk..

Leona Lewis

She isn't a megastar yet but she was number one in the UK, and she plans to crack america too but will her album go to number one in the uk? will it be good? how will she fair in america? they already have mariah.. is there room for leona?

Madonna

The woman is still going, whatever she releases, even if it is her farting, it is going to do well, if she dresses up that is, will she do well again .. or will she flop with her new RnB sound?

Mariah Carey

After her HUGELY successful last album, will she be just as successful with this album or will we have another charmbracelet on our hands? How will mariah cope with the amount of upcoming competition?

Whitney Houston

America's crackwhore returns  some say she is the best female singer of all time.. but is her career something in the past? or will world domination be in the palm of her hand once again?

Delta Goodrem

The australian singer returns later this year, after 2 number one albums, one going 14times platinum and 7 number one singles in australia, will she be able to go straight back to the top again? and how will her 3rd offering fair in the uk? after her 2nd didn't do too well!

Anastacia

Europe's highest selling, yet american female artist is back in early 08, is she going to debut at number one all across europe (bar the uk) or will she fall flat on her face? Now being a married woman and all

Jennifer Lopez

Jlo is back again, this time with an english album (copying shakira much?) but will it match the greatness of her previous offerings? "waiting for tonight" or has this latina ran out of steam?

Kylie Minogue (Dannii might have a new album out soon too, not that she is big lol)

Well, the other princess of pop is back, surely there isn't a chance in hell that she will flop, but will she go to the top?

The Sugababes

The Uk's biggest girl group are back with their 6th album, and fantastic new single, will this album establish them as part of uk music history and something that is here to stay or will it crumble their succesful career?

Girls Aloud

After the success of their greatest hits and with their brand new single and high budgetted new video on the tv, could they score another number 1 well selling album?

Kt Tunstall

She Sold over 1 million albums in the uk with her first offering and cracked america, but will her follow be as successful?

ADDED

Nicole Scherzinger

After selling bucket loads with the pussycat dolls, can the voice of the group break free and have a multi million selling solo album or will the RnB influence just be too much for her european fans?

Dido

She's the 3rd highest selling artist within the Uk since 2000? Will she return back to the top or has she left it too long to return? White flag =

I think Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Kylie Minogue will do the best, on a worldwide scale.

Not unless she goes back into rehab...

Leona Lewis

She's left her album too late - it'll be swamped by the likes of Dido, or any of the other big names with forthcoming albums.

Madonna

The woman is still going, whatever she releases, even if it is her farting, it is going to do well, if she dresses up that is, will she do well again .. or will she flop with her new RnB sound?

R&B I don't mind - but there'd better not be any rap colaborations. :(

Mariah Carey

After her HUGELY successful last album, will she be just as successful with this album or will we have another charmbracelet on our hands? How will mariah cope with the amount of upcoming competition?

She has a great voice & a great figure - that's a good starting point.

Whitney Houston

America's crackwhore returns  some say she is the best female singer of all time.. but is her career something in the past? or will world domination be in the palm of her hand once again?

She's wayyy over.

Delta Goodrem

I wish I could be optimistic.

Anastacia

She'll be just as big on her return - I just don't get why she's never been successful in her homeland though?

Jennifer Lopez

Jlo is back again, this time with an english album (copying shakira much?) but will it match the greatness of her previous offerings? "waiting for tonight" or has this latina ran out of steam?

She has a very consistant record in the UK with singles, but she loses out my giving her albums limited promo.

Kylie Minogue (Dannii might have a new album out soon too, not that she is big lol)

Well, the other princess of pop is back, surely there isn't a chance in hell that she will flop, but will she go to the top?

I have no doubt that the gorgeous Kylie will storm back to the top of the charts - radio loves her, and she can always rely on her girl-next-door image.

The Sugababes

The Uk's biggest girl group are back with their 6th album, and fantastic new single, will this album establish them as part of uk music history and something that is here to stay or will it crumble their succesful career?

I think they've lost something since Mutya left.

Girls Aloud

After the success of their greatest hits and with their brand new single and high budgetted new video on the tv, could they score another number 1 well selling album?

High-budgeted video - you mean there weren't thousands of men who wouldn't *pay* to help them into those skintight PVC suits? :)

They'll always be more succeessful with singles, than albums.

Kt Tunstall

She Sold over 1 million albums in the uk with her first offering and cracked america, but will her follow be as successful?

She'll do fine - her new single will be her biggest hit yet.

i duno who will do the best im just extatic that we have a surge of brilliant females on the way. :D

I love all of them bar KT, Madonna & Kylie :teresa:

I think all of them will be pretty massive in the UK no matter what. The only questionable ones are Leona, Delta and Sugababes imo :(

Kylie should do the best, i imagine KT Tunstell will do fairly well, altho most acts like that flop on the second album, Anastcia should do well providing she comes out with an awesome first single, Madonna is a guaranteed and The Sugababes should bag another 800-900k album, not expectin GA to do that well!

I reckon Britney and Kylie will do the best.

although im hoping Leona,Anastacia,Girls Aloud and Sugababes do very well

On a WorldWide Scale, if her new album sells anything like her last. It will no doubt be 'Mariah Carey'.

Europe Wise, Mariah sells pretty badly. Kylie will wipe the floor of everyone else Europe-wise. She is like Nelly Furtado in that sense.

UK Wise, Its between Madonna, Kylie and The Sugababes.

Mariah Carey and Madonna Sold excatly the same amount of copies of thier last albums, and again I think with there new albums they sell the same again as each other, Kylie will do well in Europe, Not sure bout Britney but I don't think it will be big, and the others will just sell 'ok' .

Britney Spears

Hope She Flops Big Time :puke2:

Leona Lewis

She deserves to be a megastar

Madonna

Was good in the 80s and 90s but is now past her sellby date ^_^

Mariah Carey

If she ditches the R&B stuff she still deserves to be big ^_^

Whitney Houston

Well past her sellby date :puke2:

Delta Goodrem

Unsure -_-

Anastacia

In a word - brilliant :cheer:

Jennifer Lopez

I prefer her latin offerings best - I hated her doing R&B but her latin album's brilliant

Kylie Minogue (Dannii might have a new album out soon too, not that she is big lol)

She's a stayer and deserves to be

The Sugababes

I think they could struggle without Mutya - I don't like that new girl

Girls Aloud

They are the best of any Pop Idol/Popstars acts.

Kt Tunstall

She's great

Edited by Euro Music

Dido will release before the end of the year and will sell the most, out of the others I think Sugababes, Kylie, KT Tunstall and Anastacia will all do well.
With the new pics of Delta Goodrem circulating - it wouldn't surprise me if this is her best offering yet!

I think Kylie is bound to do well. There's alot of excitement about the first new material from her in three years. Madonna will do ok.

Delta Goodrem will struggle. Not sure how well Leona Lewis will do. I have a feeling she won't do as well as many people expect.

Girls Aloud and Sugababes both are releasing catchy new singles..so they will do well and have continued success.

I think Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Kylie Minogue they will do the best they r huge girls aloud n sugababes will only sell in europe so they aint got a chance! x
Madonna if you ask me. She is doing R&B and working with Timbaland/Timberlake, so that will most likely sell hugely in the US, as well as the rest of the world. Albums sales worldwide, are down hugely in the last few years, so 7-8m is the most I can see any of them selling, no 10m sellers if you ask me.

Britney Spears

Will be big whether it's $h!t or not. I'm unsure - I think she's lost the plot and should just f*** off now but if the new material is good then hopefully it'll do well for her.

Leona Lewis

Another I am unsure on. It's taken this long to make her album so you'd think it would be good but Cowell and co's idea of good usually conflicts with the rest of us... Definately will do well here though.

Madonna

Whatever she puts out it will be huge across the world - just depends if it wll match her previous albums. I hope it's another 'American Life' for her because she's another that is overhyped.

Mariah Carey

I think Mariah will do well this time in America and Europe. Not sure about the UK...

Whitney Houston

 I'm really not sure. If she does another Whatchoolookinat she can kiss what';s left of her career goodbye.

Delta Goodrem

I love Delta and I hope she can reclaim some success. It'll be massive in Australia no doubt about it, but she really deserves to do well here after that masterpiece that was 'Mistaken Identity' was demolished.

Anastacia

She'll wipe out Europe, flop in the states and hmmm will be biggish over here like most comeback albums after a huge seller are - but I doubt it'll match her 2004 album's sales.

Jennifer Lopez

Ugh. I'm amazed at how she's kept going for so long and had so many successful singles? :manson: She could get a couple of big singles but in the longrun I think the album will flop.

Kylie Minogue

Of course this will be huge!

Sugababes

They are the BIGGEST and BEST girlgroup in Britain right now so for them to flop would be a crime. I think if the new single does well they'll have a big selling album.

Girls Aloud

I think the GH only did so well because they are so consistant with singles, this could always go either way for them...

Kt Tunstall

Huge I suspect but not on the same scale as her debut.

Britney I don't see being that successful, it really isn't the right time for her to come back, and her public image is in pieces. She'll probably grab a couple of top 10 singles, but nothing more. She's never been an album artist anyway.

Leona; all depends on whether she's staying with the ballads or not. If she does, it will be one more big hit, and then she'll do a Gareth Gates and fade into obscurity.

Madonna; I really hope the R'n'B rumours aren't true. Much as Madonna is a musical chameleon, I think this will be one step too far, she just doesn't have the right image to break into the urban market. It could well be another American Life...

Mariah; All depends on the singles. If it hadn't been for We Belong Together, the last album would have faded away quite quickly. She needs another one of those, otherwise it will just be another mediocre performance.

Whitney; to be honest I don't see her ever having a huge hit again. She's pretty much destroyed her career with the drugs, rehab, and the long gap between albums. It's been a good seven/eight years since she did anything noteworthy.

Delta; much as it pains me to say it, this will flop. Her second album failed to go top 20, and there was more media attention on her then and she had just had a massive smash with the Innocent Eyes. The only possible way I can see her avoiding the toilet is if she does a dramatic style change, Furtado-like.

Anastacia; this won't be as big as the Anastacia album, the floppage of the Pieces Of A Dream single was a worrying sign. I expect the album to sell well and go top 10, though not #1. Maybe the first couple of singles could go top 20?

Jennifer Lopez; first single will go top 5, even if it's a blank CD. The album, as ever, will make a token appearance in the top 20.

Kylie; there's no way in hell the first single won't be #1, it could be a cover of the Cheeky Song and it would be lapped up as it's "poor brave Kylie". However I'd be surprised if the album was a million-seller like her fans are claiming. Fever did well off the back of that one big single; unless she was a similar track the album will fade quickly.

Sugababes; I think they may have had their peak in 2005. They should still manage a top 5 album, and a top 5 with the first single. Beyond that...if I'm honest I see them splitting soon.

Girls Aloud; Unfortunately I DON'T think these girls will split soon. Other than that, should be the same story as with the Sugababes; top 5 single and album, I don't expect any #1s though.

KT Tunstall; the album should enter at #1 easily, and probably go platinum. Not sure it will be a million seller. I reckon she could just manage a top 10 with her comeback single, and then it will be back to the low single chart entries.

I do think Dido could end up selling more than any of these girls, in the UK at least.
