A couple of eerie coincidences with this week's chart and the chart from this time last year. Firstly, both no.1s were non-movers. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that the title of last year's no.1 by Kasabian 'Empire' appears in the opening line of the Enemy's 'You're Not Alone'!

Elsewhere, a busy week sees 3 new entries storming the chart, two of which enter straight into the top 5. Babyshambles make their TOTB debut with the excellent 'The Delivery', which looks set to retain top 5 status before its released in mid-september. Just behind them are Travis with my favourite release from their 'Boy With No Name' era, 'My Eyes'. The videos for both these entries will feature in next week's chart. Another new entry just outside the top 5 comes courtesy of Editors, who look to follow up the success of 'Smokers..' with the title track from their latest album 'An End Has A Start'.

So that means this week's top 3 is predictably strong, and even the lower portion of the chart is full of a few cracking songs also, including Athlete, Reverend & The Makers, Twang (who suffered a painful 5-place drop this week) and Hard-Fi, who have just announced that the next single from 'Once Upon A Time In The West' will be the brilliant 'I Can't Go On (Without You)'. Keep an eye out for it appearing in the chart soon!
