I think it's the ambiguous nature of the question.

They are clearly not at fault as the police have ruled them out as suspects unless you believe the police have it wrong.

The police could have got it wrong.. its a strong posibility, imo the parents havnt been questioned enough.. -_-

I have managed to take many holidays and never left my children alone ..... not because I thought they would be abducted but because of the many other dangers small children can find if unattended.

Whatever their involvement, at the end of the day if her parents had been in that apartment Madeline would never have been abducted.

Whatever the outcome I am sure the parents will never forgive themselves.

They wont... The parents will have that looming over them for the rest of their lives... :(

I admit that they do have a lot of responsibility in what happened - I can completely see that what they did was utterly stupid. I just think that they never going to forget that guilt and stop blaming themselves and we should have some sympathy with them because what has happened to them is one of the worst things that could happen to a family and even to be honest that is punishment enough for them.

So you agree that they were partly at fault. Nobody is saying that they are the only people to blame (apart from anyone who thinks one of the parents killed her). Clearly, if she was abducted the person who took her is more to blame than the parents. But if you leave your front door open and you are burgled, the insurance company won't cough up. Equally here, the parents are guilty of negligence.

That doesn't mean I think they got what they deserved. I wouldn't wish their current suffering on anybody.

Yeah - I go agree that they acted irresponsibly and foolishly, but some people seem to think that that means they had it coming and as people have said they will never ever forgive themselves and I think that is punishment enough.

Nothing ambiguous about it if you ask me, they are CLEARLY at fault here for leaving the kids alone not only once, but on SEVERAL separate occasions for hours on end, thus presenting an opportunity for a kidnapper or paedophile to study their habits, their comings and goings, and calculate just how much time they would have to do the deed, the p**** must've thought Christmas had come early, they made it so bloody easy for them <_< . They made it easy for a pervert to do the deed through their selfishness, stupidity and negligence, so, yeah, on that score, they damn well are responsible for what happened, I dont see where the "ambiguity" lies. More than one crime was committed here, the crime of abduction and the crime of Child Negligence, I dunno about the former, but the McCann's are certainly guilty of the latter, but no one seems to have the guts or the will to actually prosecute the fukkers, which frankly I find disgusting.... <_<

There are no excuses, these are highly intelligent, professional people, not 'Wayne and Waynetta Slob'-types, know what I mean...?

I dont think it is at all... There's two other kids to consider here as well, and for their sakes, something further has to be done.. As I've said, I think the Grandparents should be given sole custody of the twins, the McCanns only allowed to have supervised visits, and I really do believe that the McCanns should be charged with Negligence and wreckless child endangerment.... No one, certainly not the tabloid press, would defend a single mum who did what the McCanns did....

NO she won't be found because she's DEAD and YES the parents ARE to blame! It amazes me how anyone could say they are not.

Agree totally.

They will never find the kid alive, why would a parent leave kids on their own while they are stuffing their mouths at a restaurant, if they had sense they would have hired a nanny to look after the kids.

I just don't understand why any parent would leave their children asleep with the door unlocked while they are dining in a restaurant, and to make it worse, in a foreign country aswell.

It just doesn't make sense. I too believe they were in the wrong.

Completeley right...

Post of the week

They'd already interviewed them once if not twice. They are being called back into the investigation.
Well, I see the "McCann Groupie count" has increased to 8.. <_< . Sh!t, don't people actually read the posts in this thread??? It should be blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain who actually takes on board the arguments laid out, that they damn well are responsible for the well-being and safety of their own bloody kids..... <_< <_<

True. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

We can all think what we want.

I don't really think these people really are thinking for themselves to be honest.. Just swallowing all the sh!t that the rent-a-quote hacks and columnists like Tony Parsons and sodding Richard and Judy are spouting in the Tabloids.... <_< I dont call that "having your own opinion".....

The actual evidence is irrefutable, these people were negligent, end of story....

I well agree with Scott about this like.

And I hate how...whenever it was...they sued (or attempted to? :S I heard it briefly on the radio) a newspaper company saying that they were at fault. I mean, if I had lost my child or something, I'd be actually distraught, not just going out of my way to get yet MORE money. They're waste.

This thread is seriously disgusting.

How the f*** can you blame the parents? Fine, they shouldn't have left the kids in the room, but it's not like their the first, and they certaintly won't be the last. They were having a good time, and I'm sure they were going to chek on them. When we was on holiday in Turkey, the parents there would make sure there kids were asleep and then come down to the bar for a couple of drinks. It's not about NOT caring for them, it's there holiday and they were just having a good time. I'm sure they regret thier actions now as they have possibly lost a daughter.
