Obviously it's not instant for documents and everything (I have to get a new National Security card etc.) but once I've signed the deed then that's when it becomes official, I think ^_^

Ooh yes, I remember now ^_^ I read up about it a while ago when I was planning to change to my stepdad's surname (which I didn't do in the end). Once it's signed technically according to law you've changed your name (because it's a contract), but officially it's not changed until all the appropriate documents (school, bank etc.) have your new name on them.

 

I know you already knew that, but I wanted all that wasted knowledge to go somewhere :yahoo:
