The Killers and the Arctic Monkeys lead the nominations for this year's Q magazine music awards.

 

The bands have been nominated for three awards each, and will go head to head in the Best Act in the World category.

 

Singer Lily Allen also featured in the nominations list, picking up a nod for Best Video for her track Alfie.

 

The nominations were announced at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday night. The awards will be handed out on 8 October.
