What a bloody awful week. Kasabian have vanished completely, 3 of my favourite songs from last weeks top 5 are being released and theres nigh-on nothing decent around atm. So imagine my relief while browsing through the Forthcoming Releases thread when I discover the excellent 'It Means Nothing' has been pushed back a week from its original September 24th date. That means it's guaranteed at least another week at the top! Rejoice!

Less exciting is the rest of this weeks top 5. 'Jaqueline' and no.1-in-waiting 'Cant Get Along Without You' are definate highlights, but with nothing else around atm, the annoyingly catchy 'Goodbye Mr A' gets a solid 3 place climb to no.4. Why do I get the feeling i'll regret that come Christmas? This insurge of climbers means that the three strongest songs (as mentioned above) all fall 3 places, with only 'Delivery' retaining top 5 status.

So what does that leave? Well, not an awful lot tbh. Orson's decent-but-not-quite-that-good-yet new single 'Aint No Party' makes a reasonable entry at no.8, with the white paint-covered vanilla-flavoured entries from Manic Street Preachers and Jack Pinata- sorry Penate completing what can only be described as a Top Ten In Need. BTW it said in last week's NME that Fast Fuse would be released on a 10 inch only available through the official web site. It was single of the week.

The new Orson single let's your chart down - it is not a patch on No Tommorrow.

I'd agree with that.. but i'd also rank it more highly than a couple of other singles they released last time round, which both made it into my chart last year
