September 20, 200717 yr Craig, I mean no disrespect to Spurs or anything but I can't see Jose managing Spurs as I think it's a step down career wise for him. They're way off the pace and don't have the squad capable of challenging for the Premier League and they're not in the Champions League this season and it'll take something this year for them to be in the top 4. I can't see Mourinho managing in the Premiership again tbh. The only 3 clubs he may have gone to I can't see him managing in a million years. The only one I can maybe see him being at it Man Utd. IMO Mourinho now will either become Portugal manager or will just take time out of football. The Barca manager is apparently under pressure from fans and will there be increased pressure now knowing that Mourinho can potentially take charge? And knowing how ruthless Real Madrid have been with their managers over the past year what's not to say 6 months down the line their current manager is sacked and then Mourinho couldn't potentially take over? Josh, Mourinho admitted that it has really bugged him that he gets it thrown at him all the time that his success has only been because of Abramovich's wallet, he admitted it really gets to him so what better thing for his CV than transforming a club where the money is a fraction of what it was at Chelsea ? it would silence all the people that have sniped at him that his success is money orientated At Spurs he can prove that he is a great great manager, at Spurs he won't have to move his kids out of school, at Spurs he can stick 2 fingers up at Abramovich In the next few months Spurs are being taken over by billionaires so have the potential to be a serious force, what better challenge for JM ?
September 20, 200717 yr :( It's a real shame he's gone, he was a great character like him or not and his personality will be missed at Chelsea. BRING BACK RANIERI, he wasn't even doing badly when he got fired in the first place.

To be fair, you have a valid point. Another factor that should not be ruled out: His managerial hero was Brian Clough. Brian Clough had in the early 1970s led Derby County to winning the League title and to the Semi-Final of the European Cup where they were famously beaten by Juventus due to a ref (who was subsequently revealed to have been bribed by the Italian club), he then took over the (then) top side in England Leeds Utd (after Don Revie left to take over the England job) he was famously sacked by Leeds United after just 44 days after falling out with the board & the players, he then took over a small second division side and rivals of Leeds Utd, Nottingham Forest and subsequently led them to two League Titles & two European Cups on a relatively shoestring budget.
September 20, 200717 yr As a Brighton supporter I should point out that Clough managed The Seagulls between Derby and Leeds :D
September 20, 200717 yr Well apparently when Mourinho agreed to leave Chelsea, by him leaving he agreed not to sign for another Premier League club...
September 21, 200717 yr Odds on Jose's Next Job Ladbrokes 21/09/07 15:00 Hrs: Portugal 1/2 Tottenham 3 Barcelona 8 Valencia 9 Real Madrid 12 Juventus 12 Inter 14 England 16 Benfica 20 Sevilla 25 AC Milan 25 FC Porto 25 Manchester United 25 Liverpool 33 Sporting Lisbon 40
September 21, 200717 yr I think most likely he will fill in for Scolari till the end of the season and then take a club job be it Spurs or Inter or wherever I really don't see him managing Barca or Real, he hates galacticos and interfering chairmen and if he thinks that Abramovich interferes he ain't seen nothing yet if he takes those 2 jobs I would say Portugal till summer then Spurs or Inter next season

September 21, 200717 yr I agree, but could Scolari go to Chelski? Possibly but for a couple of reasons I don't see it 1) He has very poor grasp of English 2) He turned down the England job because of press intrusion into his private life, he takes on the Chelsea job he is going to get press intrusion like never before If Scolari is fired by Portugal I think he will manage another country tbh
September 21, 200717 yr Apparently it was his kids last day in a London school today. Can't see him staying in England now ...

Sorry to burst your bubble.
September 21, 200717 yr He's not going to Spurs FFS  He said his kids have had their last school day in England, doesn't that say it all? Sorry to burst your bubble. LOL English is really not your strongest subject at school is it  :manson: I made it clear that I fully expect him to move to Portugal till the end of the season but I fully believe he will be back in England next summer, his kids can simply go to another school next year Also if the terms of his payoff are true he is banned from joining an English club this season
September 21, 200717 yr If Man Utd could score they should thrash Chelski this weekend. Drogba, Lampard, Malouda, Essien, Carvalho, probably Terry too, will just not be interested in playing similar to how pathetically Yakubu played for Boro on the opening day by skulking around the pitch.

Drogba, Lampard, Malouda, Essien, Carvalho, probably Terry too, will just not be interested in playing similar to how pathetically Yakubu played for Boro on the opening day by skulking around the pitch. Yea, I was thinking this also. Some of those players might not be picked because they might not have interest in a Chelsea win.
September 22, 200717 yr I think the media are overhyping this again with all their odds on Chelsea players leaving at Christmas, the team mentality is obviously going to be low but they'll still wantto win (especially against teams like Man. U).
September 22, 200717 yr Mourinho rules out job in England BBC Sports News Jose Mourinho wants to manage again in England - but his next coaching job will be in another European country. The Portuguese left Chelsea by "mutual consent" on Thursday and he was quickly linked with a move to Tottenham. "I will come back and manage here, but I don't want it as my next step - it must be another country, another experience, another football," he said. "I'm 44 and I hope I will have many years in English football. I love English football." The former Chelsea manager added that he was not interested in coaching the Portuguese national team. "I don't want the Portuguese national team," said Mourinho. "I want to make that very, very clear. I want Portugal to succeed, I want them to work calmly and I don't want Scolari to have to look behind him thinking I'm waiting. "Not just the Portuguese national team, I don't want to work in Portuguese football." Mourinho, who speaks Spanish and French, wants to learn another language as he waits to decide on the next club he will manage. "I have to choose between Italian and German," he said. Mourinho insisted that the atmosphere at his next club would be important factor for him. "I just hope I'm surrounded by love so I can express my personality," said the Portuguese coach. It is unclear whether Mourinho's decision not to initially manage another English team was influenced or determined by his separation package from Chelsea. At the unveiling of former director of football Avram Grant as Chelsea's new manager, club chairman Buck would not confirm whether there was a clause in Mourinho's severance package preventing him from coaching another Premier League club this season. "The specific terms of the contract are confidential," said Buck. "There is nothing (in it) which I, as a corporate lawyer, would view as particularly unusual in the context of an executive of a company moving on." However, Mourinho did say he would like to return to England in the future, admitting: "I think sometime I will return to coach in England." The Portuguese also urged his former players and fans to get behind the new regime at Stamford Bridge. Scores of supporters protested outside the ground following his departure, while reports suggest several players are considering their futures at the Blues. But he said: "I don't want players to threaten to leave because I have. I don't want the fans to chant my name. I don't want demonstrations of any sort." He added that he was "happy" about his departure, saying: "In professional terms and in personal terms I'm fine. "I'm happy to have left and I'm happy with what I achieved at Chelsea not only with the results but with the mark I made." So it looks like Bayern Munich, Inter, AC or Juventus next for Jose?
September 22, 200717 yr Bayern have almost 100% record this season and have scored 10 in last 3 games so they won't fire their boss
September 22, 200717 yr Bayern have almost 100% record this season and have scored 10 in last 3 games so they won't fire their boss On the Radio5Live interview that he gave last night (that I heard this morning) he said he would not mind taking the rest of the season off to recharge his batteries and learn a new language "either German or Italian". So I would not be surprised to see him turn up as a pundit for the BBC or Sky Sports from time to time.

Get it into your head!! He said he may come back to England but it will be for a top 4 team not Spurs :manson:
