Damon’s Weekly Chart #49

For a 3rd week, We Start Fires are #1, but will do well to keep it for a 4th week, with The Thrills coming on strong with The Midnight Choir, which rose from 5 to 2. The rest of the top 5 rises aswell, with Lauren Rose making the top 3 with I Go To The Beach, The Indelicates making the biggest rise of the week up from 30-4, and The Shins making a small rise from 7-5. The rest of the top 10 sees drops for Babyshambles, Martijn Van Telden and Aly & AJ. Re-entering the top 10 is The Thrills with Nothing Changes Around Here, which is a week away from 3 months in the top 40. No new entries this week but there are 5 chart entries from Young Knives, Late Of The Pier, Maps, Lightspeed Champion and Kate Nash. Kate Nash is looking to get to #1 for a 2nd time, but it’s a tough ask, she may well struggle to even get in the top 20. Most notable exit from the chart this week comes from The Fray, who spent 3 weeks at #5 before making a quick exit from the chart after just 7 weeks.
