Posted May 7, 200619 yr I went to go see this earlier today and IMO it is the best one yet. J.J Abrams has given the mission impossible films more depth and uses clever twists and turns throughout the film. The way the film starts is unusual as well, and I found myself going "damm, I knew I should have watched MI 2 again" because I thought the plot followed on. It didn't of course and the beginning of the film re-appears again in the film. Simon Pegg is brillant in the film in the short role he plays.

May 14, 200619 yr I've seen it, the story was alrite, a lot of twists, as I thought Laurence Fishburne was the bad guy, not as good as MI2 in my opinion, MI2 has to be my firm favourite directed by John Woo. And I believe that was Tom Cruise's last film as Ethan Hawke, another actor will be playing the role for MI4
May 14, 200619 yr I saw it on Friday night, it wasnt that bad, but wasnt that good either! I would rate it higher than MI2, but no where near as good as MI. The love story kind of ruined it, and there were many masks again. The best actor by far was Philip Seymour Hoffman. 6/10
May 14, 200619 yr As far as I'm concerned, easily the strongest of the three films (and it is very rare that I say that about a thrid film...), Cruise actually required to do some acting, as opposed to just bluffing his way through it. Hoffman still wipes the floor with him though.... :lol: You can tell which bits of the script are done by Abrahms - the whole beginning part is very similar to 'Alias'. Good to see actual stuntwork being prioritised over CGI as well - gives it a real edge and the twists in the plot are not altogether obvious (unlike the first two..).
