May 9, 200619 yr They kinda make me wanna be sick in a frizzy unoriginal way, I would like to save myself from that. :)
May 14, 200619 yr it's rubbish :P I agree, and I'm a Goldfrapp fan. After releasing the awful 'Fly Me Away', Goldfrapp aren't in my good books at the moment. ^_^
May 14, 200619 yr I love all their songs and my fave at the mo has to be Fly Me Away :D But this ... sounds like something from a rubbish theatre play
May 15, 200619 yr Nah... I was vastly more impressed with their reconstruction of Depeche Mode's "Halo", utterly sublime. This is somewhat of a misfire IMO.....
May 17, 200619 yr *breaks Ice hopefully* I like it, very much ragtimy  I am a fan of them, Black Cherry is superb  One of my friends is a major fan of them, I have yet to obtain felt mountain though :(
May 17, 200619 yr Author Matty - Felt Mountain is their finest album, totally different from Black Cherry or Supernature - very filmic, chilled and gorgeous - and HMV have it in their sale for £3.99, so you should definitely check it out :D
May 17, 200619 yr ooo I will do, Ive heard some of the songs off it. i cant remember which one now, but its got a lot of whistling in it and its quite freaky! If I see it when i go to hmv on saturday ill pick it up :D
May 17, 200619 yr To be fair to Kelly, "Supernature" does have a tint of Glam Rock about it, particularly in the bass-lines, and I'm pretty sure that when T-Rex were called Tyrannasaurus Rex they did a song called "Ride A White Horse"; the structure of "Ooh La La" is quite similar to T-Rex, the chorus bit in particular, and the bassline reminded me of "Spirit In The Sky". But they way they've used the influence is clever and creative and by mixing it with Electro and Synth-pop, it's not in the least bit generic or derivitive. In short, it's a damn sight cleverer than anything La Mariah can come up with....... Oh I'll give Mariah her due, a great technical singing voice, but Jesus, what she chooses to do with this gift is frankly fukkin' abysmal.... And her "relationship" was purely to get herself a career, so in that sense she is a whore, no doubt about it; so as an artist she's compromised and has no integrity whatsoever, Alison Goldfrapp didn't need to prostitute herself to get a record contract... And I'm not impressed with the whole 145 million records sold thing, it's just a number, she could be selling fukkin' Big Macs for all the artisitic merit her muzak is worth. Mariah is the musical equivalent of Junk Food.... As for Madonna, well, I've got a few albums by her, and I have some modicum of respect for her - a bandwagon jumper she may be, but she is capable of producing some quite startling and thought-provoking work - of course most of this is in the past (the "Like A Prayer", "Erotica", "Ray of Light" eras in particular; "Frozen" is quite a magnificently majestic and gothy tune, you can almost imagine Nightwish or Within Temptation covering it someday.....  )
May 17, 200619 yr Topic cleaned up, no need for personal insults. The topic is Goldfrapp, stay on topic.
