I think the 7 odd million people who watched the X Factor will have played a good part in Leona's sales. Oh well ... just got her concerts to look forward to now. They should be thrilling!

So what? The same amount watched the JR show the day earlier and this was one of the best talk show for a long time. Plus they performed RTW brilliantly either.

Well whatever / whoever ... she is beating them at present isn't she? The more I hear her song the more I dislike it too! Its bloody annoying. And it sounds like another song - I just can't figure out which one it seems to have filched from. I'll work it out soon.

They are neck to neck actually. We find out when the midweeks update will be available.

9.5 million watched the x factor so leona had huge audience appeal for sales,im hoping take that fanbase will be strong enough to come out on top though

01 Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

02 Take That - Rule The World

03 Sugababes - About You Now

04 Britney Spears - Gimme Love

05 McFly - The Heart Never Lies

I actually like both Leona and Take That's new songs. I had a feeling Leona would get to no1 in the end. She's had massive promotion through the x-factor and her popularity is very high. Both songs are really credible, but you can only have one number one. Take That will still sell well to get to no2.
I think at the end of the day to get to number 2 is a great achievement. They've done really well with this song, and to giove Leona credit her song is really good.

the sales are good for rule the world and number 2 is great (although number 1 woul dbe better) its still a hell of alot better than id wait for life getting to numbe r17
Does anyone know what patience sold on the first day? Rule the world looks like to eclispe their first week physical release sales of 60k.

At least if RTW is beaten to number 1 it will be by a good song - I'm not keen on Leona's style of singing but she has a great voice, and the song sticks in your brain

I don't think the boys will be too upset if they come in at number 2. It's just unlucky that they released in one of the toughest weeks of the year so far.

ya although im sure they would love a number 1 i doubt they will be too disappointed with a number 2 hit plus im sure album sales will pick up again

I think it could be a good thing that they haven't reached number one this time. I had a niggling thought in the back of my mind that if this one went to number one ... they'd probably retire again at the end of the tour. But I think they may stick it out until they have a number one again and go out on top. They would not want to go out on a number 2 position. So the dream stays alive for a bit longer!

Does anyone know if the song will be released anywhere outside the UK oficially?

If it was, this could easily go top-10 in several countries. I reckon RTW could become number one in Germany and Italy definitely.

I've just read (but the source isn't entirely reliable) that RTW will be available in the States on 29th October. But I'd take it with a pinch of salt. I think they've definitely missed the boat there!
