Cloverfield is it's codename. Apparently a new trailer and the title of the film will be revealed on Nov 16th before Beowulf...but that might just be a rumour too.

This film has had so little information revealed that the speculation is immense and in that sense I think it's shot itself in the foot because I don't think it will ever deliver now.

This film looks really good, but I agree with what you're saying. Because so much is under wraps about it, I think everyone is expecting so much and i'm not sure whether it'll deliver, but we'll see.

I thought I heard "I saw it, it's a lion and it's huge" in the trailer though. :\

I don't think it'll be a lion though. :(

It certainly looks a bit like Godzilla and I think it'll be a vague remake of that.

Can someone change the title of this thread to Cloverfield, because it's been officially confirmed now.

Trailer 2

There's better quality ones out there but this is the best I came across on youtube.

First glimpse of monster from the trailer:

This movie has been give a British release date for 1st February :cheer:

Looks v.good. I can't believe how well they've kept all the details under wraps too.

JJ Abrams work is normally very good, and I expect this to be very good too. ^_^

YES! Feb 1st cannot wait less than a month :)

"Signs" with a dinosaur anyone????

I dunno tbh, I saw this really excellent low-budget Indie film called "Right At Your Door" a couple of years back which was about the effects that a biological/chemical attack in downtown New York had on several characters from the outlying suburbs and the extreme actions that some people took when the cloud started spreading.. It really played extremely effectively on fears, anxieties, paranoia of a terrorist attack, the 'monster' was unseen, it had no form, which made it even more scary for me... This just seems pretty dumb by comaparison to the gritty, documentary-style realism of that particular film....

I've got a feeling the monster will scarcely be seen TBH. There's some extremely ambiguous comments from the director and this is produced by the creator of Lost.

My favourite description of this film was from the guardian where they said it was like Godzilla crossed with Friends. Just seems to sum up the film perfectly IMO.

Considering how much I detest Friends, and the lousy Hollywood remake of "Godzilla", that description aint exactly selling me the film....

I am looking forward to this film sooo much! I am really surprised at how well they have kept it underwraps! The official film poster looks AWESOME!! Especially the one without the Title of the film on it!
