10 Reasons why I can't stand Lily Allen:

 

1. I spent just under £10 on an album which only has 4 good songs on it (the 3 singles & Alfie).

 

2. She acts all common as muck, sings in a fake "mockney accent and cultivates a street image", yet she went to one of the five most expensive & exclusive public schools in the country "Bedales".

 

3. She then had the audacity to call fellow new artist Sandi Thom "a fake". (Oh what a coincidence, her PR company handle Heather Mills McCartney, whilst Sandi's PR company handle Sir Paul McCartney. Who's' LIPA "Fame School" produced Sandi Thom - who was in 2002 "The Star Pupil - most likely to succeed and has since performed over 400 gigs, whilst Lily Allen had not played a live gig before she was signed by EMI.)

 

4. She has said that Heather Mills "is one of the most honest people in showbusiness I have met". So she obviously is a great judge of character (not), or admires gold-diggers. Also around that time Lily had on her MySpace page "Mark Chapman killed the wrong Beatle". (Needless to say her MySpace page was hacked by irate Beatles/Paul McCartney fans. When the page was put back up, that message had been removed.

 

5. She slagged off Kylie Minogue (the second most successful female artist in the UK) by saying "(her) performing at the Glastonbury Festival would be the ultimate insult to the event" & "(her) interview with Cat Deeley was to maximise sympathy towards her, to help her sell-out tickets for her forthcoming tour".

 

6. She has a very weak voice, and has limited vocal skills, and cannot remember the words to her own songs (on more than one occasion) when performing in concert. Yet she said that all the acts on X-Factor are "glorified karaoke singers" who do not deserve a record contract.

 

7. The media are scared of upsetting her dad Keith Allen, because he has been known to threaten journalists in the past, who have been less than complimentary about his work. (PS. I think he is the only good thing about the overly PC new version of Robin Hood on BBC1.)

 

8. The media want to keep in with her mum, Britain's top female film producer Alison Owen, who has produced the great British films "Hear My Song"; Elizabeth (starring Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush, Christopher Rush, Joseph Fiennes & Richard Attenborough); Sylvia (starring Gwyneth Paltrow & Daniel Craig) & the very funny "Shaun Of The Dead"(starring Simon Pegg). Alison's TV work included producing the Harry Enfield show.

 

9. She had the audacity to call Bob Geldof "a c**t" and "a sanctimonious prat". (Actually the later may be correct), but has she instigated a Charity movement that have raised over £400million in Aid, to help save the lives of an estimated 20 million people, and instigated the inauguration of the African Political lobbyist group "The African Commission" in World business affairs?

 

10. She has sold more records than the far superior Amy Winehouse & Nerina Pallot. While Lily's performance on Never Mind The BuzzCocks showed that she can give one liners out, but she cannot reply to them, (unlike the real deal that is Amy Winehouse, who did so the week before with Simon Amstell. Or to quote Nerina Pallot (in Uncut magazine) "Maybe I could sell more records like Lily, but I'm not a c**t!"

Can't agree with point 1 however. The choice of buying an album which you consider poor was your own. There are also many albums with 4 good songs on. Indeed it could be argued many albums don't have that ;)

The whole point of the pussycat dolls was that they were berlesque dancers (spelt wrong lol) so they aren't slags.. it's just the groups theme.. i doubt many young girls will look at them and think ..oh they are wearing small clothes.. i shall go out and sleep with 100000 boys... they get that idea from the school playground. Lily needs to go back to her daddy's mansion -_-

The Pussycat Dolls style and the way they dress is all about being a woman and proud of it, thats what they have said and thats what they have stated.

Lily's album is fab,every single track.Alfie is my favourite though.

Oh please, they're glorified strippers ("Burlesque Dancing" was basically the historical equivalent of stripping).... I would have more respect for them if they werent marketing themselves at teenagers and were a bit more like Dita Von Teese, who makes it absolutely plain that she is an 'adult entertainer'....

 

Groups like PCD acting in this overtly sexualised manner DO NOT HELP and quite probably exacerbate social problems such as teenage pregnancy and the spread of STIs....

How is that wrong...? It bloody would be... Glasto can be quite random in some of its line-up sure (Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, etc in past Glastos), but these random elements have never been booked to actually close the event, it's mainly just been for a bit of fun on a Sunday afternoon....

 

Booking Kylie isn't 'random', it's merely pandering to the mainstream, something that Glasto shouldn't be doing. She should do her own gigs and not ruin Glasto with her presence, especially if '07 is gonna be the last one ever, there's no way Kylie should be the last ever act to grace the Pyramid stage, it should be an act from the era and times of which Glasto was born out of (Pink Floyd maybe..?).

Everyones entitled to opinion - I could sit here and now and say appalling things about your favourite artists - I don't give a $h!t because that's my opinion - just because I don't get plastered across every newspaper in the country nobody gives a toss what I say.

She's allowed to have an opinion - so what if you dont like it. If she slagged off Westlife you'd all be in here licking her boots. And so what if she's been here 5 minutes and slags of people who have sold 100 million + records.

I'm torn about lily. I used to despise her but then I've seen her on tv a few times and she seems quite reasonable. I think alot of what she's said has been taken out of context.

 

And she's pretty much right about madonna and kylie.

hard to say yes or no, as she has been using some great old ska tracks from the 1950s and 1960s (loads more can be found on the Trojan box collections) and they should be enjoyed with all the old crackles and stuff.

 

however the lyrics and in partics the tesco alfresco lines. lyric sticks out terribly. awful

 

also think her latest would be better sung by Amy Winehouse imo.

 

I kinda warmed to her more as a person, and frankly when you look at these things she says in the cold light of day, well there's not really that much inaccuracy if we're being honest.... It's refreshing to see an artist who doesn't particularly want impressionable kids to be influenced by them (which is essentially the whole point she was trying to make)...

The paper reported that "Lily spat on Peaches" but if you read it, it later says "she spat on her shoe". And Lily said she didn't even spit on her, they just exchanged words.

Not true. I went to see her live and she sounded superb and if you download any of her many live tracks off iTunes you'll see that she has a great voice. Also, all singers forget their words - that's nothing new.

The Smile singer believes that her assault on a female photographer could lead to another celebrity jail saga. Lily was arrested and released on bail last week.
