Posted November 16, 200717 yr The Sun appoints new Bizarre editor Source: MW 11:59 | Friday November 16, 2007 By Adam Benzine The Sun is to shake up its editorial division, with Victoria Newton - editor of the paper's celebrity gossip column Bizarre - being promoted to head of features and entertainment. The move will see Netwon leaving the Bizarre column, with Gordon Smart being promoted to Bizarre editor. Newton's promotion comes as former head of features Dominic Mohan is promoted to deputy editor. Sun editor Rebekah Wade describes the promotions as "an historic moment". "Victoria Newton, who has run Bizarre so superbly and with such style, is promoted to the new post of head of features and entertainment," says Wade. "She will supervise the whole features and showbiz operation both in the paper and online. "Gordon has made a great name for himself in showbiz circles and now follows in famous footsteps," she adds. November 17, 200717 yr The Sun must really be in a dire state. In most places the likes of Victoria Newton and Dominic Mohan would have been removed from the office by security, not promoted. How many of their "exclusives" have actually come to pass? I'm still waiting for that rocky Madonna album we were promised years ago.
