In the YTD chart Rihanna has finally overtaken Mika for number 2, Timbaland (Way I Are) up to 5, Sugababes have entered the top 10 and Take That up to # 18.

Thanks to Haven (and Mikey of course)

Poor Britney - what an absolute DISASTER!

:cheer:

:o Leona is tearing up the chart! Impressive.

Maybe, but the albums sales are quite underwhelming considering the hype, and only entering the YTD at #15, most people expected #5.

The fourth fastest selling album of all time in the UK? Underwhelming?

I think some perspective is needed here away from the bubble of internet forums where giddy fans predict massive numbers or anti-fans play down any achievement.

This week Ms Lewis has sold an album faster than any of these acts ever have:

The Beatles, The Who, Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, Madonna, The Police, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Abba, AC/DC, David Bowie, The Jam, Nirvana, Robbie Williams, U2, Take That, Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen, The Spice Girls, Boyzone, Led Zeppelin, Prince, Westlife, Radiohead, Pulp, Stevie Wonder, Blur, The Smiths, Kylie Minogue, Wham, Metallica, Celine Dion, Bob Dylan .... etc etc

Now love her or hate her, or even hold a strong feign of indifference, that is not underwhelming.

If the song has been released physically,:rofl::rofl::rofl:.

And their "greatest" hits album isn't No1 either.

come on britney get better for nexy year and promote pieces of me better so blackout goes in the top 10 where it deserves

FINALLY Rihanna takes over that awful song

I don't see why everyone is going on about Britney flopping? Her albums never do well off the back of the first single, it is after the second single when they come back. This is her best performing studio album since OIDIA.

David, 'ABBA Gold' is not 'back again'.

It is NOT a Re-Entry - it was already in the Top 75. The Chart is wrong to

show it as being New at No.68.

It has Charted, (Top 75), for 357 Weeks - not 353.

It had its 353rd Week in September - No.64.

It Re-entered at No.61 a few Weeks ago - Week 354.

Then a jump to 49, a drop to 57, & now a drop to 68 = 357 Weeks.

6weeksatnumber7 - yes, Leona has sold more in 1 week, than the Acts

that you Listed. However - let's not get carried away. Most of those Acts

had International Careers. Most had long Careers.

Leona has - so far - had a 1 Year Career in the UK & Ireland.

We will see if she is still selling lots of Records in 2,012, 2,015, 2,020 etc.

Also, if she can be big in Europe - lots of Hit Singles & Albums - & in

Australia, & the USA & Canada.

Her Career won't be helped if she lets Simon Cowell chose her nothing

but Ballads to Sing on every Track on her Albums. Even some of her Fans are

saying that her Album is a bit dull due to that - check the Reviews at Amazon.uk.

I am not a Fan of 'The X Factor', but I think that Leona is the strongest Talent

from such a UK Show so far. I also think that 'Bleeding Love' is a World Class

Single - the best Single ever from such an Act.

Just as I thought that 'A Moment Like This' was a 10 a penny 'Ballad

By Numbers'.

The true test is not how many UK copies Leona sells of her Debut Album -

but whether she can keep the Sales going on Album 2, Album 3, Album 4 etc.

- and if she can become big Internationally - and that means rather more

than being big in Ireland - population 4 Million.....

Wouldn't disagree with anything you've said there zeus, was just trying to put into perspective the sales figures announced on Sunday which had been described as "underwhelming" earlier. The world is full of one single, one album wonders and no one can predict with any confidence Ms Lewis' future career.

No, it isn't, its Mikey, changed my Display Name  :P as a tribute to her highness :D

Athlete are not top 200 :( :( :(, but after all, there was no airplay, no video, and the b-sides are just live songs from one of the Koko gigs, with a live video of "Wires".

Merely a fanbase buy.
