The ones highlighted seem to be missing, that's all I know, as I only have top 20 on record

What puzzles me about this list as that everything is so recent. Are you really saying that something like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" didn't sell very many the week it was released? Or are you saying that you don't know the figures. In which case wikipedia's list is somewhat inaccurate - so no change there then!
In fact I've just checked the page for Oasis' "(What's the story) morning glory" on wikipedia where it is claimed that it sold 347,000 in it's first week. So there you go. ;)

I think the list is from confirmed figures.

Album sales pre 1990 are vey hard to track down and are mostly estimates.

sgt pepper is estimated to have sold 250,000 first week.

The top 20 list above seems to be just albums from this decade. There are quite a few albums from the 90s that sold at least 234,000 copies in the first week
Weird how everyone of those albums are from the 00's, I thought it would be albums for decades ago that were the fastest selling seeing how everyone is saying sales are suffering e.t.c.

the wiki page im trying to update has stuff pre 21st century. see first post.

There was an Oasis album that sold like 700k in 3 days or something ridiculous.

I saw a list somewhere. :(

Yes, that entry is listed in the wiki page as the fastest selling first week sales of an album in the UK ever.

"Be Here Now" by Oasis is the fastest selling album of all time in the U.K. It was released on a Thursday instead of a Monday. In 3 days it sold 663,389 copies.

I got this information from:

www.everyhit.com under the section "recordbreakers".
