There is no denying that Because I Love It, if you've listened to it - doesn't seem as though you have - is an R&B album! R&B is Amerie's genre, and so of course her album falls into that category. but that concept must be at the back of your mind because she should be able to appear in both categories becuase she is [kinda] successful, can be put up to the rest, the fact mainstream r&b is a major form of pop spectrum, and in some markets the #1 popular music, the motown production line similarities, and the fact a lot of pop music has come from r&b/soul/motown any way (even way back in when people did think in un-pc race music terms mega-mainstream acts like such as elvis, the beatles and the stones)

Amerie is half Korean half afro-american, she should be seen as being both an r&b artist and a pop artist due to various factors just like a black beat/tiger beat split on the other hand in comparison china black will appear on (very-cheesy) reggae albums and is pop. though a kind of mainstream reggae that mean it should go nowhere near dancehall forms you may find in r&b
