What? I never claimed she was 'ghetto'. I said she was R&B, and 'ghetto' is not R&B. There is no denying that Because I Love It, if you've listened to it - doesn't seem as though you have - is an R&B album! R&B is Amerie's genre, and so of course her album falls into that category. I am not making that up because she is black.

with a bit of korean in there as well

but that concept must be at the back of your mind because she should be able to appear in both categories becuase she is [kinda] successful, can be put up to the rest, the fact mainstream r&b is a major form of pop spectrum, and in some markets the #1 popular music, the motown production line similarities, and the fact a lot of pop music has come from r&b/soul/motown any way (even way back in when people did think in un-pc race music terms mega-mainstream acts like such as elvis, the beatles and the stones)

this is a record by china black btw, not to be confused with amerie obv  which would probs be in the pop and (mainstream non-dancehall) reggae arenas

Sugababes - Change.

But Kylie and Girls Aloud are catching up to it.

I'm confused. How did China Black come to feature in this discussion?

Its tigerboy.

He could turn a thread involving a world war, into something about Carol Vorderman.

Amerie is half Korean half afro-american, she should be seen as being both an r&b artist and a pop artist due to various factors just like a black beat/tiger beat split on the other hand in comparison china black will appear on (very-cheesy) reggae albums and is pop. though a kind of mainstream reggae that mean it should go nowhere near dancehall forms you may find in r&b

but note that both are different to the rock and pop section in zavvi that features all the jangly indie stuff and singer-songwriter stuff...

The randomness is making my head ache. We've gone from Amerie to R'n'B to reggae to China Black, and then completely unneccessarily to "jangly indie stuff". I don't think anyone really needed you to tell them that R'n'B and reggae is different to rock and pop.

And what the hell is Zavvi? Try and stay on topic with the answer please.

What wonders me is that out of the 11 people who voted westlife as worst album, did they actually listen to it? -_-

Zavvi, formerly known as Virgin Megastores

no :magic: but it keeps everything else away from winning that award

How are we supposed to know every single album? All of the albums I have on that list, I like, so I voted the album with the worst single by default.

Worst - Haven't heard Amerie or Westlife but they're singles have been awful so I'm guessing they have a $h!t album too but I'll vote for Clarkson.

Why is Amerie on here and Sophie isn't her album is far better and far more pop!
