On the song entry, do you want an original video put onto youtube or can existing youtube video's be used? If the later then you allow official videos?

any kind of video that's up on youtube or you can uploaded it's acceptable ;) official vid, live performace, fan made video doesent matter really :D what matters is the song :)

I think it needs emphasising really that a large point of these things is to introduce others to new music, so although you can do huge hits in essence those who do miss part of the point by entering huge stuff everyone's heard of and essentially, if they win, only do so because everyone knows the song :lol:

I'm reaveling that I'm gonna enter with some Macedonian or at least Balkan artist for the 1st edition not sure which one yet :kink:

since this forum is kinda slow in the off Eurovision season, I talked to David and he agreed, so we can start an ESC like song contest with our own countries :o yup and our very own country flags too :D

so here are the rules for the BuzzJack Song Contest borrowed from the ''Nation Song Contest" on the esctoday.com forum:

and let me sum up for those who can't bother read them :P

so in short:

 

You need to create your own (fantasy) country , name it and create your very own country flag :)

for the contest you can enter whichever artist and song you like (covers are alowed too) so artist's country (real country) does not matter, the only thing is one artist can participate in the current edition of the contest, with one song for one country ( so if anyone enters a Madonna song Madonna is taken for that edition but for the next one another country is free to choose her :) )

the main rule about the song choices is that only Eurovsion songs are NOT ALOWED also ESC prequalification songs (ex. Making Your Mind Up entries) but of course you can enter an ESC artist with some not esc song :) or whichever artist u like as I said :)

so even if your are not familiar with the original Eurovision Song Contest doesn't matter since the ESC songs could not be entered on the BJ version of this contest :music:

as for the voting we have the ESC style of votes here : you vote for your top 10 fave songs> 12 points for your 1st placed, 10 for your 2nd fave , 8 for your 3rd fave....to 1 for your 10th ranked song :)

we gonna use YouTube videos (no mp3 sharing ^_^ ) and u can send offcial videos, live performances, fand made videos doesnt matter really...

and another similarity with the real ESC is that thw winning country (player) have the rights to host the next edition!!!of course only if he/she want's too :D

and that's basicly it! and my in short turned not to be so short :lol:

Yeah, it is up to the player, but even so it would be better if there were mainly unknown songs that people don't know as opposed to in essence a top 40 rundown :lol:

I really like this idea! I would participate but I don't know many non-Top 40 songs :(
