I still dont get a few things,

 

I start a national final, and who choses the selected song? If its me, certainly there is no point in one as I'll chose my favourite.

 

What are the rules on the songs you select? Surely I cant pick a #1 worldwide smash?

 

do they have to be in english?

The national final stage is not important, it's really just a way to judge people's opinion on songs that you are thinking of entering, and seeing how well you will do. But you can really pick whatever song you want, but sometimes it's nice to get other people's opinions before you confirm... Have a look at some people's national threads - like mine - you'll get some idea :kink:

and what, I post youtube videos? What if there are no videos on the song?

You'll have to upload one. That's how everyone hears the song. If you can't do that, try Dailymotion or Myspace Video. If not, you'll have to choose a different song...

And OF COURSE if there is no official video the song is allowed to enter. ^_^

Songs can be any Language, any length, remixes, radio edits, album edits, live, studio, instrumental, a capella, an unmastered demo or an overproduced spectacle.

 

The only entry restrictions are: No covers, no ESC songs or Junior ESC songs. I'm not sure what the consensus on Mash-Ups is however.

 

If it's a song, it can be entered provided it doesn't fall foul to the above.

Yes, both covers of previously used songs and ESC/JESC songs are not allowed.

There is no official rule over Mash-ups.

 

So far it seems to be as long as it doesn't use a former entry it's good to go, or if it doesn't use to many songs/artists
