ok first of all as I stated before, I am firmly AGAINST making decisions (changing/intruducing new rules) by few people only! doesn't matter if I was one of them or not. All of you here can take a look @ the esctoday forum - The Nation Song Contest (from where I borrowed the original rules and introduced the game to this forum), and see how this is going on there and how is everything up to each member when it comes to changes in the contest.

here on BJ clearly few of the member took this fun game as an obsession or I don't know, which for me takes the fun away from this game, which yeah should be just having fun on-line.

but as I see, most of you are okay with that and I'm gonna let you have your fun, but I'm withdrawing from the contest.

also the postion of a mod here can be taken but whoever want's to do the job.

I don't see it as a fun game as it used to be at the begining here, so I'm participating only in the other forum contest from now on.

good luck to all of the players here in the future contests :cheer:

aww that is a shame that you feel like that

Can i have your job :kink:

But only if you are totally sure likes.

I don't particularly see how this could be a reason to withdraw - does the fact that songs that failed to make it into the Eurovision Song Contest are now allowed as entries ruin the fun of the contest? Most, if not all of us, would only say yes if as a result it led to the domination of the contest by these songs. But this is extremely unlikely - I don't see us ever getting more than 6 or so of these songs at most. How does it detract from the fun at all?

Either way, I respect your decision and am sorry to see you leave.

It is. Too late. Why can't you forget that it is JUST a song contest disallowing Eurovision entries only. Who cares that some song hasn't been chosen to represent some country? It HASN'T been chosen. That's why it can be considered as not a ESC-related. Maybe it's a little bit confusing but I think like that.

As for your last point - people will always think that it is a Eurovision contest (I remember that I WASN'T thinking like that singing up :| ). The voting system is a very significant feature that makes them believe so -_-

And, believe me!, this contest will not turn into ESC-rejects-spinoff because only about 5 people at the max will use them as their entries. Plus as i said before we will get BORED by all the MF etc entrants ubtil the next contest. Could you wait a little?

Can i have your job :kink:

Or me obv :kink:

Given that this originally did start as a thread in the ESC forum there are ties that will never be severed with eurovision.

Ever, no matter how hard we try

I can only think of "MF entrants will dominate the contest overally number of entrants-wise" or "they will win the contest without a doubt as many people love them already" reasons. I don't see it AT ALL.

Maybe i didn't take into account some others?

:smoke:

i've been after that since Rich became a GM

Let the mods decide :smoke:

Seeing as you like Eurovision, I find it quite amusing you still talk of it being 'inflicted' on you :P And Melodifestivalen did have its share of Swedish pop, but it's not necessarily generic stuff - look at Snalla Snalla for Christ's sake!

And the difference is that pretty much EVERYBODY watches Eurovision, whether they admit it or not, which is quite different from MF which is only reserved for the obsessives (Addy - posting in a thread doesn't necessarily mean that one is an MF obsessive, or has even listened to all of the songs :P).

I think you're imagining a perceived 'worst case scenario' here. Listen to Leona Daly - Not Crazy After All. It's hardly a typical Scandipop ESC entry, no? :P Thus far, the only stuff that has been confirmed is almost as far as you can get from the generic ESC fair which you seem so desperate to avoid...and I doubt we'll get many more than 5 entries per contest allowed by the disestablishment of this rule anyway.

Well I dunno...I liked it last year but I've been slow to get into it this year, I've only heard the Norway, Turkey, UK and Swedish entries so far and I don't know if I can be bothered to listen to the rest unless I can find somewhere with the final versions of all songs in one file. So it kinda does feel inflicted, I'll listen to Eurovision songs if I want to, it immediately turns me off them if I feel I have to listen to them. Snalla Snalla isn't generic, but it's hideous so it's equally as bad imo.

We may all watch Eurovision but would a casual fan particularly remember "Secret Combination" or "Hero" a year on? It's not different so say...someone sending Mariah's "I Stay In Love" because she performed it on X Factor and nearly everyone from the UK watches that.

Of course Leona isn't a typical Scandipop entry, she's Irish. I just don't get why we have to allow them, don't these artists have OTHER good songs? (we know Sanna and Sibel have had successful non-MF entries)

Let the mods decide :smoke:

Both Rich and Trash know how desperate i was for that job :smoke:

It was suggested i PM Boyan and ask for it :heehee: :kink:

I bet you didn't listen at least a minute of the song -_- but i know that it's in swedish and this song is SO about abusing children

They just don't know how i am as well :kink:

Another arguements like I'm 2 days older than you don't count

i had forgotten about my 2 extra days :kink:

but not about my extra contests :smoke:

Or my 4th place on the rankings which is about to be 5th unless i seriously get my ass in gear and finish higher than 17th

We really don't need a change of mods...if anything the forum only needs two tbh.

Edit: Just realized there's resigning going on. o.o Nevermind...

you could've asked all of us here if we agree on that, start a poll or a discussion about it

but whatever ...

there are two mod jobs available as FSR Rontvia are withdrawing too. Somebody will have to take over as host for XV...Quotosibb probably as they were 2nd last time

Well, if there's such a massive disagreement over the removal of the banning of the NFs of Ireland, UK and Sweden (given all of the protests when we unbanned the others was that we didn't unban these ones!), we could create a poll or something now and go back to how it was before in the time being, but forgive me for making a rule change I was already under the impression was wanted anyway...

do whatever the majorty here likes to have in BJSC.

and no I didn't wanted to be just like the NSC  but to have more stable rules/principles about the whole game.

and not to chenge rules / introduce bans each month...

as Mart!n here used to say here: if it's not broken don't fix it! :P

there will be no majority though...it will be a fairly even split as it always is based on people's opinions, and everyone who's not happy with the decision will argue with everyone who is happy with it and it will cause yet another ridiculous argument...

I've wasted far too much of my time arguing on here in the past two months
