but I was instrumental in it, just like I was in the cheap debate, and the rush decision of the #10's organising spin-off

everything I do has a huge backlash on this forum and it has just killed the fun bit by bit -_- I can see why David (Bhangra) started to distance himself from it, I was getting far too involved

You weren't

You suggested it, Trash picked it up and carried it out.

Trash started the ACM, on a subject that has roots in Trash's attempted ban of well known artists back in BJSCII

and #10's was a group effort, you were not alone, and i am sorry if you got hurt in anything i said after that mess.

None of those have been directly accountable to you. not a single one.

There were people far more involved in the cheap debate than you, me for one. The MF change has been mainly Trash vs Arron. You have not caused conflict nor have you caused distress or upset to anyone.

You are a complete asset to this forum. in every meaning of the word

Instrumental? If you asked someone to name the offending factor in the first two movements, then my name would probably be mentioned first, then Phil's :P

And the rush decision on the #10s spin-off was a simple mistake that has been forgiven by the few who were chagrined at the time! You don't provoke huge backlashes at all - you provoke inevitable backlashes from a small vocal minority, none of which have anything against you! You don't need to leave because of them!

And David only distanced himself from it because he's at university - hence why he's distanced himself from BJ as a whole :P The fun is still here Rich!

Exactly, me and Trash got all the backlash from the ACM.

i in particular got stick from using Lily Allen and signing it.

I see that. I distenced myself also and missed the previous couple of editons (and that's why I missed those discussions and green room talks) so I really didn't know what exactly was going on. now I understand and see that maaany maaany things were changed in the past few months. and I do understand you better now.

I just don't need to be made to feel two feet tall with everything I say...

backlashes all over the place, disagreements, arguing, clashing.

I am the sort of person who rushes in and makes decisions and wants things done yesterday a la, not the sort of person who should be one of the main three decision makers on a thing like this.

I'm not going to change my personality or my opinions, but in the same way, I don't need to get into countless silly arguments to defend my opinions...it's just a waste of time, and definitely not fun :(

Ok, Rich.. Look..

come back and take Addy and Pavel with u! -_-

Plus who would have given 12 points to Caroline apart from you?!

It wasn't your fault at all! Just understand that :( It'll be funnier to follow contests as a guest i suppose. Have never thought about it before :o

I-VI - The Rise

VI-XIV - The Peak

XV-... - The Fall

How i see it.

I blame Aaron

I apologise for any knock on effects Trash, I really do, but the fun seems so controlled and dictated...if we're not allowed to send our favourite songs then what's the point? Pavel wanted to send Caroline Af Ugglas but because it's tainted with the Eurovision brush, it's suddenly far less valid than every other song!?! I feel like I have had to walk on eggshells with everything I say and do just so it doesn't blow into some huge argument and I'm tired of it now and won't change my mind unfortunately

I really have discovered some amazing songs here, and will continue to follow the contest as an outsider/listen to the recap vids etc...I just can't be involved with it

The anti-Eurovision people can be persuaded with time - you can't resign just because of an immediate knee-jerk reaction by no more than a tenth of the contest's participants! You don't need to do this when it's inevitable that you will have people disagree with you as mod - it's part and parcel of the job! Look at the massive reactions my postulations have gotten me - the many cheapness debates, the banning of popular artists debate, these debates which have made us analyse what the contest is about and made the contest all the better for it! Everyone has learned something, and learned compromise - I was once vehemently anti-all cheapness, but have been swayed to compromise! These arguments haven't stopped the contest from being fun, and you're only responding to people's exaggerated opinions on these issues - you don't do as well on the Like chart as you did if you have a reputation for being overbearing etc.! The reputation isn't there and the contest is still fun - I beg of you to still take part and be involved, if not as a moderator! Please just continue the hosting duties and at least wait until the contest is over until you decide! :(

Don't say things like this Pavel. The contest must go on :(

and I wouldn't want to fall out with people on here, you for example Boyan...

and the more I argue with people, the more distant I feel that I get from them, and I don't want to get that way about as Robot King so aptly put it (:P) 'a contest on a computer'...

I am only quitting this contest, not leaving Buzzjack ^_^

I'm probably the only one who will survive this fall :kink:

BJSC Winner XV = Tinnmark

In that case, just withdraw as moderator! These aren't silly personal arguments - you don't need to withdraw for having opinions people disagree with! :( If it's just the argument side of things, then stay on as host of XV and then see how you feel afterwards, and remember all the fun that has been had by this contest - even the last contest which people declared had no fun whatsoever (the most key of which objected to pretty much everything in the contest despite being new to it all...) still gave you fun! :P

I can't add anything to this. I am the one that will ultimately have to bear responsibility for you leaving Rich, and I can't do this just because you agreed with me! :(

you are one of my fave members on BJ since I've joined the forum and I'm here from the very begining ^_^

based on this all you need to do is resign as moderator of the forum.

stay out of any debates and just become a normal member.

Don't withdraw from the contest because of the actions of few. Not only are those on the same side of the fence against it, but i highly doubt anyone who has argued with you in the past 2months would want you too leave. You are in the top 3 points wise for a very good reason.

Stop moderating, past the hosting of XV on to someone else, just don't withdraw. The contest wouldn't survive.

this really isn't just based on the reaction to 'Melodifestivalengate' as I'm going to call it :heehee: but a whole number of things...

I'm not prepared to change my opinions on these matters, they are all part and parcel of my personality. At the same time, I don't need to be made to feel that my opinions are completely invalid just because they are not shared by the majority here. I don't like to be made to feel like a hypocrite/control-freak, so the best thing for me is just to leave it now and get out. Everyone can continue arguing with each other and I'll probably sit back and laugh at how trivial it all is, but I can't be involved with it anymore. I don't mean to leave mid-way through a contest, but all it takes is another person to come up with new dates/banner which will take five minutes. I won't change my mind, it has become completely un-fun for me now...

Rich, your disagreements with Aaron haven't at all affected your relationship with him on BJ! We've disagreed on things in the past, and argued our points, but it's all friendly - none of it has been personal! There has never been a big falling out, it's just a difference of opinions and attempts to persuade - if it had ever gotten personal, then I would see where you were coming from, but it hasn't! You don't need to leave the contest Rich...resign as moderator if you must, but at least finish this contest until you make a decision as large as this!

I just don't want people to see me as some sort of ridiculous control freak making rash decisions about things...and you leaving the contest over a rule change that I suggested was definitely not what I wanted to happen :(

I can't add anything to this. I am the one that will ultimately have to bear responsibility for you leaving Rich, and I can't do this just because you agreed with me! :(

I would also feel guilty seeing as i ended up with a high ammount of backlash in the ACM thread and top30 on the hate chart just after it.....

And it'll take someone to host it :P Your opinions aren't invalid, these people have just been making their own points! Remember that the vast majority of people haven't been involved in these debates - it's just been a few! You aren't the one being seen as a control freak Rich! :(

Is someone going to open "The Anti-Withdrew Movment" soon?
