I have been presented with a dilemma a few days before the official confirmation thread opens...I have been listening to Sanna's album all week and have come across a potentially better track than Nobody Without You called Magic...they are both very different tracks

 

Nobody Without You is very Celine Dion-esque whereas Magic is very Disney but has an excellent melody and chorus

FSR Rontvia are ecstatic that Sanna came 4th in BJSC9 with 133 points, the country's highest mark to date!

 

the next entry from the now No.1 country (based on success in all 9 contests) will be Headhunted by Mira Craig

 

Norwegian singer Mira is of course no stranger to the competition, having accompanied Maria Haukaas Storeng to third place for FSR Rontvia in BJSC7 with Mine All Mine :D

Gigi D'Alessio Performs in FSR Rontvia

 

After a modest reception to the first performance of his tour in Nickodonia, Herzebanian representative Gigi D'Alessio tonight performed in Constarvan, the Rontvian capital to an ecstatic crowd.

The Rontvian crowd enjoyed Gigi very much and hope he can come back before the contest for a CD singing in Rontvian Music Stores, Constarvan

FSR Rontvia have for the first time failed to reach the final of the Buzzjack Song Contest with Headhunted by Mira Craig

 

officials have gone into crisis talks and may have to steer away from the Scandinavian female formula in the next contest...

Wow, really was expecting Headhunted to go through.

I became less certain after the many people stating that they hated it :heehee: hence I wasn't entirely surprised...I would have been if nobody had said anything about the track though :o

ACL are extremely disappointed in Rontvias results. . Headhunted along with Daft Punk were our favourite songs this contest.

It was really interesting watching the votes for Rontvia come in - Before the mass slating started Mira looked like she would coast through around 7th or 8th in the semi but then after people started to show their dislike for the song the votes just stopped coming. It may be pure coincidence but i do think messages posted on the boards can affect people's opinions of songs :thinking: I think the same thing in reverse happened with Margaret last time - She looked like she'd get a top ten finish but when people started to say they liked it and wanted it to win she suddenly became favorite

it's a real shame everyone started making their opinions known, I made the best out of a bad situation by trying to drum up some hype for it putting all those quotes in my sig, but alas it didn't work :drama:

 

I think it's fine to express your love for a song but expressing hatred for a song before the contest is a bit unfair to be honest as, like you say, it instantly has a stigma attached to it of 'the worst song in the contest' and people's voting may be biased, perhaps some people didn't want to be 'the person voting for the worst song'

 

whereas if people start saying, 'oh that's the best song I've ever heard', people will obviously start paying more attention to it...even if I truly believe Will You Remember Me Tomorrow is one of the best and most original song sto ever appear in this contest

 

or perhaps people just didn't like Headhunted pure and simple ^_^ FSR Rontvia will of course be back bigger and better, we are disappointed, but certainly not defeated :w00t:

Rontvia does have a tendency of moving slowly up the leaderboard in the final :heehee:

 

I'm happy for all of the new countries who get a chance to be in the final though :D it's just a shame it was at the expense of, in my opinion, three fantastic songs -_-

 

and I reckon, even if I only got points from people who said they loved it, Headhunted could have picked up at least 80 points in the final, which is far more than probably the ten songs at the bottom of the leaderboard will get in the final :cry:
