Oct 11th : FSR Rontvia

Nonsuch entry for the 11th BJ Song Contest is former Rockstar:INXS singer Suzie McNeil who finished 4th in that worldwide competition, the highest placed female to find a replacement for the late Michael Hutchence. She has since gone on to have a string of hit singles in her native Canada of which Lonely (Are You Coming Her Home) was her biggest, being denied the top spot by Madonna - 4 Minutes in 2008. She also sung her debut single Hung Up (not the Madonna song).

Janelle Monáe makes brief stop-off in Constarvan

Janelle touched down in FSR Rontvia on her whistle-stop tour of the world in order to perform her entry for BJSC XI, Many Moons. Janelle was heard to comment afterwards that, despite FSR Rontvia having already submitted their votes for the semi-final stage of the contest, she 'couldn't bear the idea of not performing here'. Janelle was later interviewed by the leading Rontvian gossip show 'Loose Scandinavians', hosted by Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig, during which she admitted that she 'had a lot of time for Rontvia as a nation, and for its musical output', before going on to say that her earlier clues in Sangria had not referenced Rontvia, but in fact her next stop. 'We hadn't originally planned to stop off here, as Rontvia had already submitted their votes, but after I found out we were flying over here I just couldn't let this chance go!', Janelle admitted, before admitting that she believed that the Untouched-Serebro mash-up was 'quite possibly the best promo performance ever, if not the best BJSC-related performance of all time'. Janelle also revealed that her favourite ever entry was 'a toss-up between Smack Me! and Will You Remember Me Tomorrow?', before performing Mine All Mine with the hosts to finish the show. Janelle's performance has led to her odds within Rontvia of victory being slashed from 12/1 to 9/1, especially after Janelle hinted that she was 'considering getting in touch with Pixie', a collaboration many within Rontvia have speculated could possibly yield a 'complete reinvention of pop music', according to leading Rontvian musical pundit Ricardo Perez.

her tour was not in vain, if you catch my drift ;)

oh and wouldn't Loose Women just be so much better if they ditched the current slappers in favour of Maria and Mira

Janelle and Pixie :o now that would be an interesting collaboration!

:heehee: Unsubtle clues FTW

Maria and Mira would be the greatest thing to happen to daytime television since Richard and Judy tbh :o We must alert ITV at once :smoke: Then again, Mine All Mine is such an obvious UK-hit-waiting-to-happen that hasn't even happened yet, so the chances of two Norwegian popstrels conquering the UK don't seem great :( Ah well, if Madcon could... :heehee:

Janelle + Pixie would quite obv be the new Rihanna + Klaxons ;o

:heehee: you guessed what I meant then :kink:

yes I completely agree about Mine All Mine, but then it wasn't even a hit in Norway was it  I don't recall it ever cracking their iTunes top 100  so its hit potential here is slim to none...but ITV do need to be alerted of this brilliant pairing I agree :kink:

Rihanna and Klaxons was brilliant, Janelle and Pixie would be better :smoke: any chance that Darkchild is a mutual friend?

Quite possibly for Darkchild :o They should hook up sometime :smoke:

And it's a sin tbh that Mine All Mine didn't even crack the top 100...maybe it hasn't been released yet? :o

it's a sin that there's no official video for the track, it could be amazing if it had a similar theme to the live performance they did at the Junior Melodi grand prix thing

her whole album fits right into the Duffy/Winehouse/Spiteri bracket and with adequate promotion could do some serious chart damage, commercial radio would lap it up...although she'd have to be known as just 'Maria'...Haukaas Storeng doesn't exactly roll off the tongue :heehee:

Kate arrives in Rontvia

Kate Voegele arrived in Rontvia last night for her promotional tour for her Torchwood entry 'Hallelujah'. She performed an acoustic version of the track and it was unbelievably well received by the Rontvian public ^_^

Phonebook?

Ashton's current entry Gabriella Cilmi has expressed an interest in returning to FSR Rontvia to sing the Rontvian phnebook cover to cover.

She may even perform current entry Don't Wanna Go To Bed Now and her critically acclaimed cover of Headhunted

the Rontvian phonebook has approximately one million numbers, she could be here a while :heehee:

not that we would mind of course :kink:

its smaller than the Ashtonise equivalent

i naturally assume you would be joining me on the front row? :kink:

of course, I'd sit through the whole concert  I'd especially enjoy hearing her pronunciation of Maria Haukaas Storeng :heehee:

LMAO! it would be amazing.

Perhaps i'll suggest she cover Headhunted on Wednesday when i go to see her in Glasgow

she was in Brighton the other day but I didn't find out until the day after the concert GUTTED

Headhunted would be a surefire UK No.1 for Gabriella, get her to cover it :P

it would be hilarious if the BJSC ever affected an artists career path in some way :o

i'll do my best.

if i don't physically get to meet her to suggest it, i'll send her management an email

that would be very cool, if we could influence a career. RBW FTW

I heard the song that Colour Me Dirty samples today at work, an old Yazoo song

I instantly thought of Red Blooded Women

maybe we should make a petition for some of these BJSC songs to be released in the UK...Headhunted, Colour Me Dirty, Mine All Mine and Will You Remember Me Tomorrow spring to mind :o

oh and Don't Want To Go To Bed Now of course  Sanctuary is the oddest choice

Yeah i agree!!!

Headhunted  Mine All Mine  WYRMT

and Colour Me Dirty  they so should release it, especially Colour Me Pjanno
