Posted November 25, 200717 yr There is a band called Within Temptation. I have heard their song Memories on a tribute to WRC driver Richard Burns and I almost cried. Have they ever had a UK success with this? Edited November 25, 200717 yr by Xmas Again :-)
November 25, 200717 yr Author Here's the video. A good bye to a real driver and a real man.... Richard Burns.... :-( With This song (All Of My) Memories... It's so sad.... swjSfdKx6wY Edited November 25, 200717 yr by Xmas Again :-)
November 25, 200717 yr Memories was included on the 2004 album The Silent Force, which sold about half a million in Europe. Memories was released as a single in 2005 but only in Finland, Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland. Being a Dutch band they're very successful in The Netherlands, not so much in the UK as yet but their popularity is certainly growing. I'm going to see them on Thursday and am looking forward to it.
November 25, 200717 yr Are they really pop? The only song ive heard is "What Have You Done?". It hit #132 or something like that and didn't seem like pop I thought they were Finnish too (as in from Finland) Edited November 25, 200717 yr by Harve
November 25, 200717 yr No their not pop, their music is described as symphonic/progressive rock. This is just really a topic in the wrong section. What Have You Done - I can't even remember if that was released in the UK, but the album it's on The Heart of Everything reached #38 in the UK, which isn't too bad. :D And no they're not Finnish, they're definitely Dutch. November 27, 200717 yr Oh wow, I LOVE this band. I'm a huge fan of Symphonic Rock/Metal in general (bands like Lacuna Coil, Leave's Eye's etc) but I'd say that The Silent Force is my favourite album from the genre, its so consistent with not one single bad track on it. The song Memories is beautiful, but seriously the last track on TSF (called Somewhere) is a thousand times better, it makes me feel teary everytime I hear it. Please download it, I promise you won't regret it! Their new album The Heart Of Everything is also excellent, but perhaps a little too Americanised/Commerical for them, I think they may have been under the influence of their new label to come up with something more "radio-friendly", hence the inclusion of louder, more chugging guitars. Would say I prefer their earlier releases though (Mother Earth and Enter). Very strange place to post about this though I must say, but I'm pleasantly surprised anyhow :P

They're Dutch indeed. The singer Sharon is from my hometown actually. We're very proud. They great I think. Have fun at the concert. And yes they are getting more and more popular outside Holland.
November 27, 200717 yr They are very good and underated here. -_- Memories is one of my favourites by them
November 28, 200717 yr These should be in Rock/Metal! I like them but Sharon annoys the hell out of me I could punch her! She tries to act like Kate Bush on stage. I have all their albums apart from the latest. But yes brill song first one I really loved off Silent Force!
November 30, 200717 yr It was like the fittest concert ever. It was amazing - Sharon sounds awesome on cd but live was even better. They played all of The Heart of Everything, highlight was Forgiven it was stunning and then some other older tracks. Some of which had been reworked to sound more like rock and less like folk. It was totally worth the £16 for the ticket, that was like a bargain. The show was really long and just ******* awesome.
