That's a good idea, but as we've already seen, just an artist's name can get a winner as we saw in the last contest, even though it was a good song there were definitely better songs in there who I think suffered just because they didn't have the 'star power'. David and I are currently discussing this so we may draft an idea soon :w00t:

Could be better though if we do a different stipulation for each contest like one could be, none top 20 hits only, unsigned artists, christmas songs etc, then it might help get a fairer set list.

True, but as things are going it seems people are sending songs taht are obviously popular on BJ, such as Maneater...I'm certain someone will send Say It Right or Bleeding Love or Umbrella at some point too <_<

Thats really true, those songs are bound to do well, like I said make it so each contest has a different stipulation like, non top 20 songs, none top 40 etc, album tracks. Surely then we'd get a fairer set list.

yeah..and the contest will go to half countries than we have know, simply because not many ppl here gonna enter some non big artist....

Thing is though, everybody knows a few obscure songs - hell, you can even go for old classics people won't have heard in a while like Vanessa Williams! ^_^ But the thing is, there's no point in having huge numbers if the end result just looks like the Multichart, and it'll just ruin the fun for others who try to look for something new as if it continues, people will just be able to vote without listening to any of the songs and just voting for what they know :(

Simon I was going to pick Mariah singing this in the first competition. I would advise using the live video rather then the normal one as singing live is more in keeping with a song competition.
