December 5, 200717 yr THE HORMONAL TENSION FROM THIS THREAD IS UNIMAGINABLE. I THINK SOME PEOPLE SHOULD HELP WITH THEIR MENOPAUSAL HOT FLUSHES WITH SOME H.R.T. INNIT. *SENDS EVILS IN CASS'S GENERAL DIRECTION*
December 5, 200717 yr Author 101 Battles - Atlas IpGp-22t0lU I would advise that everybody who reads this thread watches the youtube video. This little masterpiece goes over the head of 90% of people seemingly but it's one of those songs I have genuine admiration for. With all the blip-blop beats and intertwined synthesised vocals it makes a superb song. I really couldn't think of a better way to open the chart. ENJOY.
December 6, 200717 yr I love this thread  Personally I think Cass and Ash should GET IT ON. The results would be interesting
December 6, 200717 yr I think that is possibly the most weird "indie" song I've ever heard in my whole entire life. It sounded more like DJ Cammy than anything else.
December 8, 200717 yr Author 100 || Junior Jack - Dare Me [stupidisco] [2007 Re-Issue] 99 || Larrikin Love - Well, Love Does Furnish A Life 98 || Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry 97 || LCD Soundsystem North American Scum 96 || The Good, The Bad & The Queen - Kingdom Of Doom So we kick off the top 100 with those songs just simmering on the verge of greatness, but not quite achieving it. We have the same old dance tune from Junior Jack with the 2007 stamp on it & a crazy little indie number from the now no-longer-in-existance Larrikin Love, in which they tell a story of it being a "day in the life of you". Lovely. Further up the top 100 we have the Cold War Kids with my personal favourite of theirs, often labeled a tad dull but HMUTD is really quite catchy in a droning, generic guitar hit sort of way. LCD Soundsystem also appear, North American Scum only further exemplifying what is an amazing back-catalogue of faux-electro songs. And The Good, The Bad & The Queen also feature at #96. But nobody really cares about them seemingly...
December 8, 200717 yr Stupidisco It was always on the verge of being a classic, but in the end it ended up being 'good'. Hang Me Up To Dry NOW HANG ME UP TO DRY. YOU RUNG ME OUT TO, TO, TO MANY TIMES Classic Cass. (L)

North American Scum was good, but the two singles that followed more so - especially 'All My Friends' (Is that still on the way?). Edited December 8, 200717 yr by Notso_Hampson
December 9, 200717 yr I think you should have posted the Junior Jack video :naughty:
December 9, 200717 yr 98 Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry 97 LCD Soundsystem North American Scum 96 The Good, The Bad & The Queen - Kingdom Of Doom :D :D I do hope there's more LCD S to come!
December 20, 200717 yr Author Brilliant. mmm. North American Scum was good, but the two singles that followed more so - especially 'All My Friends' (Is that still on the way?). I actually have no idea. I should really follow LCDS more than I do..
December 20, 200717 yr Author 95 || Pigeon Detectives - The Romantic Type 94 || +44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating 93 || Peter Bjorn & John - Young Folks 92 || The Knife - Marble House 91 || Tiny Dancers - I Will Wait For You And in the next batch we have five acts that all seem to bubble under the surface somewhat. We have soon-to-be-massive Pigeon Detectives with their indie jingle "Romantic Type" up first; the only Pigeon's song to actually make the chart. All the other singles have been nice enough but it's all too samey. +44 also rear their head suprisingly enough, along with Peter, Bjorn & John with their WE GOT RADIO ONE A-LISTED AND WHISTLE THROUGHOUT A SONG hit "Young Folks". Splendid. The Knife also appear for the first time on the chart, should be higher really. Would've been if I'd have given it the respect it deserved upon its initial release. Tiny Dancers make up the last song in the top 90, but they're just a generic pop band trying to be indie really.
December 20, 200717 yr 'Romantic Type' is by far and away one of the best from the Pidgeon Detectives album IMO. ^_^ And I LOVE Tiny Dancers. :o 'I Will Wait For You' is a great single as is 'Hannah We Know'. :o Any chance of that being later on? ^_^
December 27, 200717 yr Author Going down in 10s now otherwise it'll never get done.. 90 || Gallows - Abandon Ship 89 || McFly - Transylvania 88 || James Morrison - Undiscovered 87 || MIA - Paper Planes 86 || Groove Armada & Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya [Out Of Control] 85 || CSS - Off The Hook 84 || Justice - Waters Of Nazareth 83 || Hoosiers - Goodbye Mr A 82 || Pull Tiger Tail - Let's Lightning 81 || Billy Talent - Fallen Leaves A fairly commercial bunch of songs in this lot; chart-pleasers McFly, James Morrison, Mutya & Hoosiers all get respectable positions in the top 100. Meanwhile Gallows hard-hitting summer tune "Abandon Ship" gets a decent position despite me loathing it initially. MIA also underachieves, while CSS make their first of two appearances on the chart. Justice & Pull Tiger Tail also make it into the 80s with their nice little numbers and Billy Talent shockingly tops the pile with "Fallen Leaves". HARDXORE.
