I've been asking this on a few forums - Moopy, Dannii's own - but I wondered what you all thought. With Touch Me Like That crashing into the UK singles charts at a highly unfair #48, what's next for La Minogue? What can she do to get hits again? Time off, return to the studio, changing labels, a new sound? Let's have your thoughts!

TO be honest i dont know i thought it was a realy good tune and thought it would have a been a top 10 single coz she was on x factor and beacuse its a gd tune.im realy annonyed it ent done well for her its a shame

She's basically to old to connect with music buyers, so that's just a dead end.

Sure there are many options for her, two that spring to mind are; TV presenter and Nightclub owner.

Would advise she does what she enjoys.

Oh DEAR.

Signing to a more stable label, getting back to a sound similar to Neon Nights (or something fresh and innovative like that), somehow managing to get radio 1 on her side.

It's gonna be a hard slog, what major label will take a chance with her track record of albums and how this single has done?

And what Ricky said is rubbish, she's 35.

I do not see how she is to old at all. That is just lame. Kylie is four years older than her and hello, madonna is fifty this year - granted they are clearly and obviously more established artists with a loyal fan base but Dannii is certainly not to old. Considering lots of leading female artists of today are in their 30's anyway.

Dannii does need to be an actual artist again. Her AATW days have just turned her into a more glossy Kelly Lorena. Just an artist who releases random dance songs. Plus she seems so uninterested in them. They are just general run of the mill and generic.

With "Girl" and "Neon Nights" Dannii had style/album themes and regular single releases. Releasing one single per year does not meen you are a recording artist! Its simply a joke and a slap in the face to the fans you do have.

"Neon Nights" was an album ahead of its time and got her mild recognition. Got her radio play, regular performances on tv and she was generally liked. It was such a big stepping stone for her. Call it her "Light Years" if you like. If she followed it up well I really believe she could have done something wonderful. But instead she left that label (out of her own choice) to a budget label who are only famous for releasing dance compillations.

I am a huge Dannii fan but she wrecked her own carreer so it seems

Well there's always the dole queue! OK, poor jokes aside, she may love working on TV that much she will decide to venture into that as a permanent fixture (it's looking more probable what with poor singles reflected by embarrasing charts peaks).

All it would take is a killer track, but AATW have really tried with Dannii and have probably lost more money on her than any other project thus seeing her being dropped (or, how it will be publically announced as a 'mutual agreement').

Dannii isn't actually contractually obliged to be with AATW, and therefore can't be 'dropped' - she merely approaches them with material if she wishes to release a single (or album, in the case of The Hits And Beyond) and is told yes or no.
I agree she needs to theme her albums and releases, get a pattern to them and bloody well leave AATW! Get on a proper label and release some dance/pop Neon Nights-esque song instead of generic dance rubbish.

But its only one single flop? its not the end of the world just yet?

Dannii's 4th single from Neon Nights was a bigger hit than any of the four singles which have followed on the AATW label. Clearly all is not right; her biggest-seller in 4 years scraped 30,000 for gods' sake.

:(

for now she needs to focus on her tv career, the only area she's a hit in these days... ditch aatw, ditch the cheaptastic dance sound she's been doing ever since being dropped from london and come back in 2-3 years with a more sophisticated sound.
I think she will either finish her career in music and go into tv work or look for another record deal.
