Well, the USA had Usher at # 1 for months, same for Mariah. Snoop Dogg, Hollaback $h!t, and now SOS - so surely, not to judge the UK charts in terms of quality. Specially coming from a Rhianna fan.

I hate the record too!

It was good for about a week thats it.

And Allysa darl I feel privelged to have a chart like the one we have in the UK.

It may have a load of rubbish in it sometimes and weird messed up rules but at least its not full of stupid RNB $h!t thats been churned out so many times.

How many times can you make a song about having sex and drugs - and get some slut to roll around half naked with a nice rap in it?

I am getting sick of the song now. Personally I think it's a good song, but it's getting overexposed now. Still, good on them for lasting this long at number one. I'm glad it stopped Rihanna getting to number one over here though.

And as everyone else has said, the UK chart isn't anywhere near as bad as the US one. That chart has certainly improved with downloads being added though, but even so I'd rather have a variety of number ones than the US chart which usually has the same urban artist at number one half the year, then that same artist at number one again with a different song, then the winner of American Idol for one week, then another urban artist for the rest of the year.

Good summary :P

The song is marvellous, Cee-Lo has an amazing voice. One of the few vocalists in the world today who doesnt look like the way they sing. The Gnarls Barkley album is one of the best of the 21st century and some people really fail to spot true talent when they see it :)

This question is as old as they come. People have been asking this for years and the usual response is stop looking at the charts to judge entire music genres.

I'll second that Graham.

U.S. Urban music has really come full circle,it's run out of ideas IMO.

It seriously should re-invent itself.

I do not like alot of american music i only like hip hop which is like Ciara, missy elliot, etc. Pop/dance Britney spears, x tina, etc. And light pop/rock like kelly clarkson etc.

I hate rap and other stuff.

But Gnarls´ Crazy ain´t rap, and at last it is something different, not the usual brainless teenage idols from the USA.

And just a note, in real world Britney Spears don´t have any relation to dance music, except in USA where people don´t know what´s dance music.

I'd rather have our charts compared to the US anyday, all that s**te R'nB/Hip Hop/Rap theres hardly much else to choose from, other than the odd american Idol (a show, in which I may add has been completly robbed from us!, although americans probably they think they invented it, like everythin else). Would you want a chart in whic Usher is No.1 for about 6 months?!, only to be knocked from the top by...Usher again or some Usher wannabe!, also have you ever noticed how all the music videos feature the latest mobile phone or some kind of new electronic device, talk about shameless, tasteless soulselling advertisment! the US chart isn't a 'MUSIC' chart it's a popularity contest.... <_<
You people are so DEFENSIVE! She didn't lambaste the entire UK chart and certainly didn't claim the American chart was any better.

Most Americans think 'Dance music' is for 'Gays',ask any Texan ! ^_^

It used to be an amazing song. Now its overplayed and c**p!
