August 26, 201014 yr Apart from the weather (cold & wet all summer - freezing & snowed up all winter) which we can't do anything about. Traffic lights. You come to a red light and you stop and wait and wait and wait sometimes up to 4 minutes and there is nothing coming the other way really pisses me off. Why don't they employ the old pad system like they use to have (where the lights only change for the minor road when vehicles pass over the pads) instead of the timer system. Timers should only be used where all roads are major roads. Stuck behind caravans and tractors for miles on single lane roads. Also I agree with the poster on motorways, mile after mile of cones blocking lanes off and nothing is happening. Not even a hole in the road. Road humps. Like a previous poster has stated. To slow traffic down they'd be better using chicanes like they do in mainland Europe. Speed cameras in stupid places. Political correctness Edited August 26, 201014 yr by euro music
August 26, 201014 yr I agree with everything you said person above Also, I hate the fact that if you are old and suddenly have to go into care, they take your house off you and all your money so you can leave nothin in a will. My grandad has written his house over to my mum in case anything happens then if he needs care the government can pay as he has spent all his money on holidays
August 26, 201014 yr I just think its disgusting that if you pay taxes all your life, that you will have to pay for your care as well, even taking your house and putting your children in debt. Disgraceful. And I suppose the people who have been on benefits all their life will get free care from the government. Very wrong
August 26, 201014 yr Another thing which disgusts me- couples having children to get free housing and then have no intention to work. They should be sterilised and/or shot
March 1, 201114 yr Time to unsticky this? Gives the impression that people in Perspectives agree with the tosh above.
December 29, 201113 yr People who are on benefits get it for free as well??? What.....£68 quid a week thats what Job Seekers Allowance is....thats not a lifestyle its a struggle!
February 6, 201213 yr Traffic lights. You come to a red light and you stop and wait and wait and wait sometimes up to 4 minutes and there is nothing coming the other way really pisses me off. Most of this thread is absolutely TERRIBLE, except for this one line, particularly with regards to pedestrian crossings. If I can't find a gap in the traffic when I cross the road to the supermarket in the nearest town to me, I'll of course use the zebra crossing, which is situated on a completely straight road with clear view of the paths leading up to it. When it finally turns red I've probably already crossed it. I then watch the traffic come to a halt and SIT THERE for a good one minute, even though it's quite clear that no-one else is going to be crossing the road. I don't drive, but when I do, I think I'll just ignore a traffic light pointlessly being on red? I have no idea why nobody else does. On the other hand, French 'pedestrian' are quite crazy as I've seen one spanning a ~4-5 lane (!) road that doesn't actually have proper road markings. What's more, cars aren't obliged to stop, even on a red light. It feels rather suicidal.
