Great to see a Britney album charting in the uk! 218k should reach 219k by the end of the week!
Does anyone know how much make me has sold in the UK? Has it passed 100k? Any info much appreciated
54,000 the last time it was updated in September 2016. Maybe 80k now?

Up again, 3 places to #190!

In the Tuesday midweeks, Britney Spears - The Essential is showing up instead, at midweek #190... hmm. If that's still the case on Friday (and assuming it stays in the chart, of course), that would be the first time The Essential has ever charted in the UK.

It's so messy when the OCC changes which GH is charting. It's actually happened before with Britney: on 10/08/2018, 'Greatest Hits: My Prerogative' charted at #159, interrupting The Singles Collection's chart run for 1 week:

[6th Entry: 27/07/2018] 188-181-Out

[7th Entry: 17/08/2018] 153-118-97-145-184-Out

Anyone got a sales update for toxic? I know it was around 830k just wondered if that remix has helped to boost it slightly?

Back again! It's already spent longer in the chart in 2020 than it did in 2019.

872 sales to be #188.

In its one week absence from the Top 200 on 14th February, it curiously only sold 242 sales, which indicates that a lot less streaming data was applied to it in that week.

Platinum here we come 😍

anyone got sales info ? :D

The last total we knew for My Prerogative was 1,032,114 in August 2018, I wouldn't be too surprised if it's still below 1,050,000 considering that The Singles Collection tends to get most of her streaming data applied to it hmm!

The Essential Britney Spears from 2013 placed at #128 last week. Is this the first time it's charted?

33k total sales.

It is indeed a new entry! :o

There's been a few weeks this year where The Essential has appeared in the midweeks, but then ultimately The Singles Collection would chart instead, or neither album would end up being in the chart.

Honestly I find it super annoying that streaming sales flit between different greatest hits albums. :( Any time the sales go to The Essential just means that it'll take that bit longer for The Singles Collection to reach Platinum. I assume The Essential rarely gets big streaming sales considering its lowly total figure of 32,596, with 988 of those being achieved this week - that is 3% of its overall total! If The Essential keeps receiving that level of sales each week, it would likely go Silver before 2021.

Judging by The Essential's percentage increase of 132% since last week, it would have sold 426 copies last week. Neither The Singles Collection or The Essential charted last week, which means The Singles Collection sold less than 707 (that's how much #200 sold). I suppose the streaming was more evenly distributed between those albums last week?

Friday 13th March 2020 chart is the last time The Singles Collection was in the Top 200, so there was a 3 week gap between that and The Essential suddenly emerging at #128. #128 is the highest position for a Britney album since 31st August 2018, when The Singles Collection was #97.

It confuses me to no end when it comes to greatest hits collections and streaming. I understand that the most physically bought in a week gets the streams if the songs appear on both albums (which I guess means any streams from songs that appear on the second most bought physically but not the first gets added to the sales of said second album) but then random things happen that confuses me again. Like why did Bill Withers' compilation randomly disappear for a day during the midweek updates?

I know what you mean about streaming sales swapping between greatest hits albums - the same happens for Madonna with Celebration and The Immaculate Collection (then one time some random Madonna budget release no-one had ever heard of ended up charting for two weeks!).

^ 39,000!

The albums that sold more:

Week Ending 29 November 2003

01 ( NE ) Number Ones (by Michael Jackson) 1 wk

02 ( NE ) A Present For Everyone (by Busted) 1 wk

03 ( 01 ) Life For Rent (by Dido) 8 wks

04 ( NE ) Greatest Hits (by Red Hot Chili Peppers) 1 wk

05 ( 02 ) In Time: The Best Of R.E.M. 1988-2003 (by R.E.M.) 4 wks

06 ( NE ) Body Language (by Kylie Minogue) 1 wk

07 ( NE ) Let It Be... Naked (by The Beatles) 1 wk

12 ( 03 ) Try This (by Pink) 2 wks

13 ( NE ) Beg For Mercy (by G Unit) 1 wk

14 ( NE ) In The Zone (by Britney Spears) 1 wk

I don't think I'll ever understand what went wrong here! It debuted lower than G Unit, who hadn't even had a hit single at that point? Lower than the second week sales of Atomic Kitten and P!nk. :\
