I'm not insulting the fact you like the song. I just thought they should have done something risky like Kiwi or Back At Your Door. Goodnight Goodnight just screams flop.

Wake Up Call didn't do too badly in some countries. I did manage a few top 10 positions but nothing amazing. Won't Go Home Without You just flopped pretty much everywhere.

That's a shame because all three of those are great.

There's no point in releasing in the Uk, sadly. Everyone will ignore it and it'll scrape top 75 if its lucky. Such a shame. The album is great, I love it but I don't actually think its full of 'singles' if u know what I mean.

If they wanted one last chance at making something more of this album they should have gone with If I Never Seen Your Face Again - one of my favourite tracks off the album which is instantly catchy and would have been lapped up by UK radio stations.

They orignally planned If I Never See Your Face Again but changed their mind to Goodnight Goodnight. I agree with everything you said :(

I would have been disappointed with If I Never See Your Face Again as a release because it's one of my least favorites from IWBSBL..ah, differing opinion again. :lol:

I'm surprised this is being released as they didn't perform it on tour. Good choice, although I'm annoyed that Nothing Lasts Forever still hasn't been released :lol:

I've just listened to the track again, and I honestly can't believe they're releasing this! It's such a weak song, and it's not really that much different to Won't Go Home Without You it terms of the style to the track at least.

 

They're heading for uber-floppage with this track.

In a recent interview, Adam Levine has revealed that Goodnight Goodnight was chosen as the fourth single because it is the perfect way to end the album.
