Again, I've only rated those that I know. I remember hearing Laurie Anderson for the first time on Peelie's show and loving the song immediately despite (or perhaps because of) its total weirdness. He then continued to play it most nights for a while. A work of pure genius. I was both staggered and delighted when it went as high as number two.

A very good compilation, but most of the songs are pretty well known. Not one that John would have compiled himself methinks.

yeah i looked in the book and thats just mad how an record so totally avant guard could get so high in the charts. did he use to play the version thats on the comp all the time, its a v long record. if so more credit to the man
