Posted December 18, 200717 yr From ESC Today: The Mirror newspaper has revealed that Gary Barlow has been invited to submit a song for the 2008 Making Your Mind up show, the United Kingdom's Eurovision Song Contest selection show. He has revealed that although he is considering a second entry as a songwriter, Take That would not perform the song. Gary Barlow entered a song in 2004, losing out to James Fox's entry Hold onto our love. Although he is not ruling out writing a second entry for the comepetition four years on, Barlow said: "It's a great show and maybe there's a chance we could pull it off, but think of the stick we would get!" The BBC have not yet released any news regarding the 2008 national selection for the United Kingdom, but news is expected early in 2008. Last year, well known names such as Morrisey and Jarvis Cocker were linked to the event, and Justin Hawkins entered the competition however they have now ruled themselves out of participating in 2008. After a series of poor results, the BBC may have more difficulties attracting strong names from the British music industry to the event.
December 18, 200717 yr Author He has said he or TAKE THAT will NOT be doing Eurovision Not SINGING. He's implying that he'll be writing a song. And yes Gary, I've worried about that thought many times. :(
December 18, 200717 yr Not SINGING. He's implying that he'll be writing a song. And yes Gary, I've worried about that thought many times. :( I like Same Difference but they will BOMB if they enterted. I think we need to ditch the novelty acts and get a PROPER singer. Someone who can sing..
December 18, 200717 yr I like same difference too but they would bomb.. we need someone who can actually sing VERY well this year.
December 18, 200717 yr It will be Same Difference. Just you watch this space. Wouldn't there be the slight problem of the X Factor tour in March 2008, therefore keeping them out of the National Final (also to be held in March 2008 - not yet confirmed, but it's been in March for years, so why change it now)?
December 18, 200717 yr I like same difference too but they would bomb.. we need someone who can actually sing VERY well this year. Jordan

December 19, 200717 yr ...we need someone who can actually sing VERY well this year. Trying NOT to sound like a broken record :P , there is one person who CAN bring us good results: Susanne Manning-Courtney. That smokey voice will melt ANY Eastern-European heart! http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r82/eastripper/SusanneManning-Courtney.jpg Oh, the AWESOMENESS! kxTH5_oZsZ8
December 19, 200717 yr Ffs WHY do we need celebs? I mean, would you rather have some amazing new talent, or a flop-pop-reject?
December 19, 200717 yr Ffs WHY do we need celebs? I mean, would you rather have some amazing new talent, or a flop-pop-reject? That's what I meant, someone with an INCREDIBLE voice.
December 19, 200717 yr That's what I meant, someone with an INCREDIBLE voice. Exactly, we need to find a new Mika or an Amy Winehouse, a serious act that will be a hit with all of Europe. I mean, f***ing Scooch anyone? :puke:
December 19, 200717 yr Maybe our only hope is to get somebody famous? Somebody who is known all over Europe and has a pan-European fan base? But would a 'big name' act be interested?
December 21, 200717 yr It will probably be between Samanda, Same Difference, Michelle Mcmanus, Jodie Marsh and Shayne Lynch.
