(although pertwee became stuck on earth....booorrring).

I'm fairly certain that was only due to the recession in the early 1970s causing a cutback in the BBC's budget for all of their programming including Doctor Who, hence the less expensive sets, and less impressive second rate The Avengers style pastiche it became for a while.

Having now watched it three times, I would say that Kylie and Clive Swift were the best things in it by miles. The plots have got so silly now - which is a shame as it had potential.

I watched the first Christmas Special on UK Gold the other day and the difference in quality was huge!

I've just watched the repeat on BBC1, in my opinion it was a bit like the Posideon Adventure, but I enjoyed the story, one by one the survivors were getting killed off.

Kylie was great in it, David Tenant and Kylie would have been a great pair in a Dr. Who series together, instead of that awful Catherine Tate, but why did they had to kill her off in the xmas episode is beyond me, I actually shed a tear    When she looked at the Doctor, I shouted NO :(

The new episodes look great at the end of the epsiode, but Catherine Tate is going to bovver me

I give it 8/10 for Kylie-ness
