Do the Circus sales include the live version or just the original release?

The Dream of Christmas has very underwhelming sales.

Original, I imagine. The live version was a DVD release only.

It will be fantastic when Beautiful World finally goes over 3 million and becomes 10x Platinum. The equivalent of Diamond in America and Canada. (10x)

I would love Take That & Party, Nobody Else and Wonderland to all creep over into next sales certification as I believe all three should be higher. For the first two they were succesful by the standards of the day. I just think they should be higher to fall more in line with their post reunion sales.

I think what would help both 'Take That & Party' and 'Nobody Else' is if they put the hit single versions of 'Could It Be Magic' and 'Never Forget' in place of the original album versions.

Beautiful World had some huge weekly sales outside of its release week.

Yep, 443k in Christmas week.

Get the albums pushed on vinyl would be a big help.

They really should start working on that as I think they would grab decent vinyl sales.

Maybe it will happen for anniversaries.

Im happy rule the world is now their best selling as i love it myself and much prefer it to back for good. Huge shame it never made number 1 in the charts though.

Out of interest, here are all the boyband singles (New Kids onwards) which have gone Double Platinum or higher in the UK.

UK Singles - Platinum+

Triple Platinum: Over 1.8 million copies sold.

I Want It That Way (1999) Backstreet Boys.

Rule The World (2007) Take That.

What Makes You Beautiful (2011) One Direction.

Double Platinum: Over 1.2 million copies sold.

Stay Another Day (1994) East 17.

Back For Good (1995) Take That.

Everybody (Backstreet's Back) (1997) Backstreet Boys.

No Matter What (1998) Boyzone.

Keep On Movin' (1999) Five.

Uptown Girl (2001) Westlife.

Patience (2006) Take That.

Shine (2007) Take That.

Glad You Came (2011) The Wanted.

Little Things (2012) One Direction.

Story Of My Life (2013) One Direction.

Night Changes (2014) One Direction.

Steal My Girl (2014) One Direction.

Drag Me Down (2015) One Direction.

History (2015) One Direction.

Reggaeton Lento (2017) CNCO & Little Mix.

Sucker (2019) Jonas Brothers.

While One Direction has sold a lot of singles (14.4 million to Take That's 13.2) they are far behind on album sales (4.4 million to Take That's 14.4 million)

Overall UK sales currently are:

Take That: 28 million.

Westlife: 22.3 million.

One Direction: 18.9 million.

Boyzone: 14.3 million.

These are the only four boybands currently to have cumulatively crossed 10 million sales in the UK. Take That and Westlife being the only two to have gone over 10 million in both albums and singles separately.

Take That with 27 million is incredible and they will hold top position for years to come.
  • 1 month later...
Shine has crossed over 1.2 million sales (Double Platinum) in the UK. It is their fourth song to cross this mark. I think in time Never Forget, Greatest Day, and The Flood will do the same.
  • Author
That's great for shine, the flood and never forget deserve it to happen aswell as both are brilliant but they are a long way off.
  • 2 months later...

Everything Changes (single) has finally gone Gold (400,000 sales) today so hopefully more of their back catalogue will reach higher certs in time.

This means the song is more popular now than Relight My Fire, A Million Love Songs, Could It Be Magic, and Sure.

Thoughts on reasons?

A million love songs is one I'd have thought would more ahead of everything changes.

I like everything changes but prefer both relight my fire and a million love songs.

Sure is one of my fave singles from their older stuff.
