I'm not annoyed by this because I see bits of Amy in Adele's voice. But after listening to "Chasing Pavements" I think she sounds more like Natasha Bedingfield than Amy Winehouse.

No one can touch Amy, but I think Adele has a crackin debut single. Thanks to Lady Wino, the current trend is hunting down authentic, home-grown female singers with an edge. Some are good (Kate Nash), some are bloody terrible (Amy Macdonald).

That aside, they are nothing alike.

I don't really see any similarities tbh.

Adele has an okay voice, but in terms of pure talent there's no question who is better. ^_^

I'd swap those around :P

As for Adele, her debut is ok, but it's not a patch on anything off Back To Black, I agree with the Natasha Bedingfield comment :D

There was a discussion on Radio 2's Stuart Maconie show about whom Adele reminds you most of and he and his audience all came up with the same name of a great British London based female singer with a big soulful voice, and larger than average body frame also whose first name begins with the letter A but it is not Amy Winehouse..........

Alison Moyet - Only You

It just shows how historically ignorant/lazy the media & to a lesser extent you are to compare her with Amy.

Adele doesn't sound at all like Amy Winehouse in my honest opinion, I think it's difficult to find someone that sounds like Amy unless you look back to the sixties.

Alison Moyet? Perhaps, but Alison has a darker and deeper quality to her voice.
