Posted January 6, 200817 yr and now a film you wish was remade by the AMERICANS!!! (even if its the first time director of american pie 9  ) i didnt like it, would have walked out but wanted to see Girls Aloud. it was very poor, with some weird casting (R***** B****) but at least it was not as bad as I want candy. where as Starter for ten was made a few years ago and set sometime randomly in the 1980s this felt like it was set few years ago and made in the 1980s, and should have been on a dvd tripplepack with Nuns on the run and Clockwise. was watching comedy connections about the young ones last night and even tho i dont get some of that show/think its all that great, yeah think a better option might be Young One-Filfthy rich and catflap-bottom tripple bill if you want a bit of psudo-arnachy or just go for Starter for ten
January 6, 200817 yr I loved it, it was entertaining, funny, and a fun movie, it wasn't meant to be the most ground breaking film to ever come out of an English studios, and it doesn't try to be
January 6, 200817 yr I loved this so much that I've seen it twice. It's really hilarious, with many classic scenes and quotes. I'll definitely be buying this on DVD when it's released. I love the soundtrack aswell.
January 7, 200817 yr I think the head mistress was the character that made the film entertaining. It's the guy who plays Alan Partridge right?? :S
January 8, 200817 yr I think the head mistress was the character that made the film entertaining. It's the guy who plays Alan Partridge right?? :S Nope, it's Rupert Everett
January 8, 200817 yr Author I think the head mistress was the character that made the film entertaining. It's the guy who plays Alan Partridge right?? :S that have might have been more intersting - that performance was weird. dont really know the original Alistair Sim performance that well - but supposed to be a classic perf role - so will be much better
January 9, 200817 yr that have might have been more intersting - that performance was weird. dont really know the original Alistair Sim performance that well - but supposed to be a classic perf role - so will be much better The Alistair Sim performance was brilliant, camp without even attempting to be so, Sim plays it relatively straight, and this is why it worked... Rupert Everett's is just tacky, campy nonsense in a very deliberate, knowing, obvious, totally un-ironic way.... Russell Brand's interpretation of the George Cole "Flash Harry" character is similarly bereft of any irony or wit.... -_- The St Trinians films worked in the 50s and 60s, they simply do NOT work now in 2007, Britain is a completely different country now....
January 9, 200817 yr I think I've seen one of the originals, and it's far more superior. This was really predictable and a remake made for the sake of remaking a film.
January 9, 200817 yr I didn't really like it tbh, I was confused at what the plot/point of the whole thing was. The acting wasn't exactly good either.
January 13, 200817 yr I saw this the other night and thought it was really, really good! :o It was pretty predictable and seemed more like a foul-mouthed kids film with a few innuendo's thrown in for good measure but I did find it funny. :heehee:
January 13, 200817 yr I quite enjoyed it, it wasnt great but it wasnt awful either. The acting wasnt too bad I thought.

January 23, 200817 yr I absolutely loved it :D It didn't try to be anything more than it was meant to be, and whilst parts of it were unnecessary and utterly bizzare, it was okay! Very fun movie, but I wasn't moved in the least by Russell Brand. As if he doesn't make me want to put things in my eyes the rest of the time, he pops up in this aswell!
January 27, 200817 yr LOVED IT. The first film i've bothered to go and see at the cinema in over a year and i was'nt dissapointed!
January 27, 200817 yr To all you people who are bumming this incredibly below-average film I say just this - watch the original films (esp. the first two..) with Alistair Sim and George Cole giving truly legendary, inspiring comedy performances (you certainly would NOT have the likes of the "I'm a Lady.." sketches from "Little Britain" without Sim, that's for damn sure, and Cole's "Flash Harry" is the inspiration for just about every "dodgy cockney" character, EVER...) and then say that this lame re-hash is such hot sh!t......

NO. I like the film, you dont. Stop trying to shove your opinion down my throat.
January 29, 200817 yr NO. Why not? Scared I might be right...? What problem, exactly, do you have with checking out the original classic films....? Are you really that narrow minded (mind you looking at your rather limited musical tastes answers my own question)...? Hey, I might have thought the remake was sh!t, but at least I actually saw it, and therefore actually know what I'm talking about..
January 29, 200817 yr Stop trying to shove your opinion down my throat. If you dont like reading other people's opinions mate, bugger off to another site where I'm sure they;ll all fawn over you and treat you like God.... Is your problem my opinion, or the fact that I dont share yours.... I find it very telling that you say "St Trinians" was the only film you saw in the cinema last year... Very telling indeed.... It tells me, that you just dont really like cinema or films very much, you certainly have scant knowlege of the subject (I very rarely even see you comment on this forum).. I'd rather have just seven or eight people who are passionate about film contributing great, well thought-out posts to this Forum than a hundred people like yourself who dont really give a fukk and just give one line responses which dont really mean a whole lot....
