Posted January 11, 200817 yr And by that I mean real pop music and not everything that's popular. I must say its pretty much the only genre that during a bad phase, can suddenly dominate the top10 during a week, the other genres arent capable of such features. I remember when I was growing up, I used to think to myself nothing would do better than pop music, because its just pop. The sound that ideal for radio, tv, accessible, etc. How wrong was I. Oh well, still love it. And I must say that I really love it a lot more than a few years ago, must be cos it isnt as dominant as before.
January 11, 200817 yr Because is very flexible, it allows you to enjoy different rythms in one song. If you know what I mean ;)
January 11, 200817 yr I have a wide taste in music, however what i do like about pop music is its happy feel good music and i mean proper pop music not one hit naff numbers like shaun the sheep, pop music from Kylie,Madonna,Take That etc is enjoyable its feel good its sing along and is great for lifting the spirit, pop music is needed in the music industry and classic pop will last forever and we are lucky that we always get a few classic pop songs every year
January 11, 200817 yr Because it has a little bit of every genre thrown into one. Not too much of this, and not a shortage on something else. Almost any body can appreciate a good pop song.
January 11, 200817 yr Because if it's done right, it can be amazing. However, there are always rotten apples to EVERY genre, pop is no different. It's constantly changing, too. With the technology of computers, the options are unlimited. However, I think I prefer pop when mixed with other genres. Hummer by Foals would be a good example.
January 11, 200817 yr 'Biology' by Girls Aloud is a song which would sum up my answer to this question
January 11, 200817 yr And by that I mean real pop music and not everything that's popular. but even tho you are meaning POP! music rather than pop.music, its so hard to define what real pop music is as most your probs talking about music from other forms (big gay hinrg, dance, disco, r&b, soul, rock) that have seepsed into the white mainstream and moulded for teen/tweenybob/tiger beat auds rather than something that sounds like what could be described as real pop the monkees and the mamas and papas or perfect pop like Ian Broudie's works. most of the time rock and pop are so interlink - that it should be only thought of as mainstream rock and pop
January 12, 200817 yr Pop is a great fun genre. Rock, R&B and Dance is a bit more darker than pop and we get alot more different people in pop
January 12, 200817 yr 'Biology' by Girls Aloud is a song which would sum up my answer to this question  perfect answer, that song is pop perfection  as is Toxic
January 12, 200817 yr I like pop because it is fun and not too serious! In contrast I dislike the indie/rock genre because the artists take themselves way too seriously usually!
January 13, 200817 yr  perfect answer, that song is pop perfection  as is Toxic  Toxic is a great song a great pop.song of popular music, but maybe less pop than the Kinks, Bklur and Madness and this scale below??? http://sz-shop.sueddeutsche.de/mediathek/shop/img/10_88_so.jpg http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/160/548723.jpg Where does Toxic fall in relation to popular music??? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/00/AmgirlCD.jpg Am I the Kinda Girl? was more in keeping with the Britpop sound of bands such as Blur and performers such as Stephen Duffy, and featured collaborations with Guy Chambers of The Lemon Trees and Andy Partridge of XTC. However, even though a couple of singles charted in the UK (including a Number 11 cover of Ray Davies' "Waterloo Sunset"), the album failed to make much inroads into the album charts
