I still think Scooch is the best act we have had since 2002! Actually i LOVED Daz Sampson teenage Life!

The eurovision isnt done very fairly as all the countries that are near each other vote for each other! Which is why we never win! And the UK have really bad timings for things! Because when we do an up tempo one the others do soft nice ballads and when we do the nice ballad everyone else does fast, upbeat rocky sort of songs! I think Eurovision should be given a theme for every year!

Leona will be the only one to do well in the eurovision lets get her, she can sing, everyone will remember her and shes already huge in europe for her huge single 'Bleeding Love' (Oh i can dream cant i? lol)

My favourite act from another country was definately Last Years - Kate Ryan - Je T'adore I still (To this day) cant believe it didnt make it to the final! Perhaps it was one of them They'll get all the votes so we wont vote for them!

Kate Ryan was 2006 and was indeed amazing

Leona would NEVER do Eurovision...she's already successful in many parts of the world so it would be pointless

In 2004, Switzerland got 0 points. The person who represented them in 1998 - who also failed to score (unfairly, imo) - said that it was because they've got no friends.

In 2005, Switzerland got 128pts and finished 8th.

So there's hope for us all. (Before anything is said, I know they were represented by an Estonian act - I doubt they got their points simply from Estonia's friends.)

point taken. do we know who's going for it yet?

Cool Vibes should have won  If the UK sent something of that standard to Eurovision, I'm sure we wouldn't finish in the bottom 5 all the time

More information has been provided by the BBC about the United Kingdom's Eurovision Song Contest selection process. The entry will be chosen via a two part television show on Saturday March 1st. The show will be hosted by Terry Wogan and Claudia Winkleman and will be 'Eurovision - Your Decision'.

Six acts wll compete in three categories. The best from each category will progress to the second round, along with one lucky loser via a wildcard. The second part of the show will will see two acts eliminated, leaving two acts to battle for the ticket to Belgrade.

The artists are expected to be named next week, along with the categories in which they will compete. Stay tuned to esctoday.com for more information in the coming days.

Claudia Winkleman made her Eurovision debut as cohost of the first ever Eurovision Dance Contest last year. She presented the show alongside Graham Norton and was widely accepted as a strong presenter for the show. She will cohost the event with Terry Wogan, the long time commentator of the BBC's Eurovision Song Contest televised broadcast and host of the various national selection shows over the years.

I don't get the need for categories tbh, especially as they're having a wildcard. Still, makes it a bit more exciting I guess! :D Do we know when the people are gonna be announced yet?

I really don't see how it's so exciting this year. It's still 6 acts, who will probably be of the same calibur of previous years, as the format is pretty much the same except it's being drawn out longer.

run for the hills, acording to digital spy, both channelle and ziggy from big brother (whatever the last one was) have been approached to appear in the UK national final hummmm.... run for it
